Halo Lovers.. explain to me why halo is any better than...

Last I checked you can easily hook up computers same as Xboxs. You don't have to be alone in your room. And there is much more variety with a computer lan than a Xbox lan. You get UT2k4, CS:S, BF2, DOD, etc all night vs....Halo 2. I pick PC.
 
I have a really nice PC.

That being said, my consoles get more gaming hours. (aside from MMOs)

I prefer to sit back on the couch rather than 2 feet from the monitor
 
Yes. You do that in low gravity.

Anyways, Halo is awesome to play with a bunch of people. I am assuming you have never hooked your (if you have one) Xbox up to live and done some matchmaking with friends. It is one of the best gaming experiences you will have.

Now, I play PC games too. CS is almost up there with Halo, and I do lan matches all the time on CS. The Halo experience is just more fun.
 
i am both a PC game lover and a halo lover. Its just like what has been said before, with Halo you can go anyway, say to college, and find people with an xbox and meet in the dorm lounge and have fun all day.

I dont care what PC sackriders say, you cannot do this with a PC. Yes, you can lug around your PC with you, yes, you can buy a sweet laptop and do the same, but, not that is not as universal as consoles.

I love playing BF:2 online, and i would rather play more single player FPSs on PC. I loved HL:2, i enjoyed FEAR, etc. but there is something that is much more fun about playing halo in the same room as 15 other people, something that doesnt translate with VOIP and chat text.

There is nothing especially awesome or revolutionary about Halo, it is simply a well made game that is very fun to play.
 
can't get 4 people on one computer playing with 4 kb/mouse sets.

sorry, my friends don't carry their computers around with them every time they come to hang out.
 
buy a laptop then, they're just as powerful as PCs now, with just as much storage, and very compact. I have a 1 year old Dell that plays HL:2, CS:S, WoW, Doom 3, BF:2, etc all on 1920x1200 high graphics. Just buy a good mouse and maybe a good keyboard and you'll be fine.
 
The game engine just works, the maps are fun, and the customization is easy. Matchmaking is fantastic most of the time, however nothing beats a 16 player LAN.

Halo3 will just cap it all off.
 
Try a 32-64 player LAN playing BF:2. Or a 20 man lan playing CS:S. Don't get me wrong, Halo is a great game, but with just XBox, you're variety of games is limited, as is the amount of players.
 
:shrug: Matchmaking and party rooms are just that fun. The game is okay.. but its really just the experience with friends for me. :shrug:
 
I dont think Halo is that great. I mean, it can be a fun game, but its certainly not anything amazing. But maybe thats because I prefer games like Counter-Strike, CoD, Battlefield. Things with real guns and such.
 
The number of players is important, but its the gameplay that i love.

I have bf2 for 360, and yea its fun, and the PC version might be better, but halo is still more than than either.
 
Yeah but you have to assume that all the people in your LAN party have the same amout of power in their equipment to run the games. I mean like someone who can run a game without as much lag has a advantage, not saying its a good advantage, but still an advantage.

With console everyone has the same thing. Besides like everyone has said, the gameplay, physics, ect are just perfect for it.
