Halloween remake! - My Scout Dean Interview!!

I absolutely love the original and I'm a huge fan of the series so please don't attempt to patronize me. Yes, I thought this film was pretty decent, it was a great slice n' dice movie, nothing more, nothing less. People like you give the impression that because we like the original Halloween we would be doing it a dishonour to admit that the remake is even remotely good.

...And what the hell do you mean "The Harry Potter groupie returns"

First things first, I wasn't attempting to patronize you, and I would appreciate it if you didn't speak to me as if I am the type of person who just sits around all day insulting remakes because I ignorantly refuse to except anything other then the original. My strong dislike towarRAB this particular remake has nothing to do with that at all.

The Harry Potter comment was just pure sarcasm on account that you said "bloody" excellent.

I thought you could take a little humour. You've posted before in Harry Potter based topics, I recognised your username, so I figured I'd just play on that fact. ;)

Just finished seeing the workprint and feel your being a little harsh Rhinestone.
It's nowhere near the level of the original (nor could it be),but I feel for what is a ninth movie in a franchse it is quite good.
Maybe Rob got way too ambitious and overconfident with this and should not of knocked the rest of the series in interviews and this has caused some resentmentby horror fans from day one.

But like I say for a ninth in a franchise it is a good horror although not for everyone due to being driven by pure brutality and not much else. For fans of excessive violent horrors or the late 70's/early 80's slasher movies it's a good little throwback.

It didnt bore me one bit and it's basically a realistic portrayal of f**ked up lives.nihilistic and godless. In this sense it suceeded,it's not a suspense driven, scarefest and makes this clear in the first 20 mins.

To me the scenes lifted from the Halloween are a nice little homage and nothing else.

Again if Rob had sucked up a little in his statements on the movie and made it clear it is basically a ninth movie a franchise directed by him as opposed to a over hyped GRAND vision it would be better recieved.

It's got more vision and style then Halloween 2,5,6,8 ever had.

My final verdict is 2.5 out of 5 stars.
