The new ending of halloween is michael kills dr loomis then trashes up the house looking for laurie! when he finRAB her, She shoot him dead! ( well prob not dead that is just where the movie enRAB:P)
 
Saw it last night.

Pretty crazy ending.

She's sitting on top of him, with a 44 magnum to his head. Click click boom.

I liked it better than the original.
 
Oooh, so there's a different ending to the 'workprint' torrent that's going around?

We've just watched the 'workprint' version and I thought it was ok. Nothing stunning, and I didn't expect it to be...but I saw it for what it was - a homage to the original.

Still, it passed nearly 2 hours on a boring night in :cool:

I'm intrigued as to how different the actual release of this film is to the workprint.
 
I think the studio made Rob Zombie (the director) cut out/reshoot a couple of scenes to make it less extreme. Does Michael rape someone to get out of the hospital in the workprint version? They changed that for the theatrical release.

The funny thing is, when it was announced they were doing reshoots for the movie most people assumed that they were gonna make it more extreme with more deaths or better death scenes but really they were toning it down. Whatever, it seems like a trainwreck of a film looking at all the reviews of it.
 
Grrr, why do they have to remake classic horror movies anyway? It's totally unnecessary and lazy filmmaking, and will hardly be better or more groundbreaking than the original.
 
Enjoyed the remake. Although I have only seen the workprint. The film was better than I had expected. Really a film of 3 acts. (1) The young Michael Myers. (2) The asylum) (3) Escape and return home to kill. I enjoyed the work print ending. Many people are saying that the workprint is better than the theatrical version

Workprint Ending Loomis Saves Laurie and the police Shot and Kill Michael Myers. Loomis feels he had failed Myers.

Theatrical Ending It appears Myers has killed Loomis and Laurie fires the Gun at the shapes head. Although you only see blood on lauries face. I presume the shape is dead but this also could set up for future sequels.
 
I personally enjoyed it but obviously dont know what the theatrical version is like,but get the idea as I have read what's in/not in it.

To me critics are looking at it all wrong as are expecting something as important as the original which it is not,it's basically a 9th movie in a franchise.After wathcing it trust me it is better then any 9th movie in any franchise could be.

It's a movie made for fans of the the character of Michael Myers (and there are loaRAB).I'm one and after witnessing Halloween:Ressurrection this movie is a real breath of fresh air.

It's dark,souless,brutal,nihilistic and after years of increasingly softer horrors I got what I wanted.

As for sequals,I read a review which stated after seeing the ending there probably won't get anymore Halloween movies.How naive can you get?
 
I did enjoy the workprint but for me they made michael too human like the scene where he gives laurie the photo of them both,i think they will make a number 2 as tyler and Malcolm have signed for two halloweens and tyler did confirm in an interview that he had signed for another but didnt rob had only signed for one.Other than that i enjoyed it looking forwrd for the pictures release.Quite a few changes and scences were cut or added.
 
I enjoyed the workprint version, I'm glad I downloaded and watched it as some of the scenes in it might not appear on the proper dvd release later in the year/early next year. I only felt like the 3rd act was rushed and all the suspense that made the original so great was lost.
 
I think Rob had a lot to do with the reshooting of scenes.The studio made the top actors sign on for another 2 sequels and were hoping Rob would direct a sequal if this was successful.He publicly stated he hated the idea of a sequel and wanted HIS to be a standalone film.
Therefore with the new ending in place it leaves no room for any sequel whatsoever.


Also the workprint is dated June 2007.Which is when they first started testing the film in America,and all the talk about sequels came about.
 
I don't think the new ending would halt a sequel anyway, just look at Halloween H20 when Michael Myers gets decapitated but then it turns out it was someone else.
A sequel would probably feature an excuse that someone was on PCP or some crazy drug, was dressed up for Halloween and gets mistaken for Myers ;)
