you WILL be dead ..lol

this was *Never* about the Origional SPIN OFF JOKE !"

does that clear that up ?....

A Classic film on par with origional ...:) worth a look ..

Ive seen the worprint and loved it,know all about the new scenes and ending........yet ive decided to go see it tonight.Even though i have to pay to take my bro in law with me.6 quid a ticket :(

I saw this last night....

Not bad for a remake. Devoting nearly the first hour to Michael's childhood was really the key difference in this one, with the second half being a straight retread of the original. The casting though was really off in the film. Having Michael played by Tyler Mane (Sabretooth from the X Men) meant that you had this hulking, near indestructable brute rampaging his way through a bunch of little girls. Felt like I was watching some superhero instead. The teen cast were godawful - who the hell chose that actress to play Laurie Strode, what a no mark! Hoping that she would get offed first. Incidentally, the girl who played her friend Annie, was the same actress who played Bruce Willis' daughter in The Last Boy Scout (now 30!). Some of the dialogue, particularly from the girls, was pretty crude I felt and outta place. The only redeeming factors were use of the classic score, some genuine momentary shocks and keeping the sparseness of the town. Nice to see some classic horror icons on the big screen again (Dee Wallace and Brad Douriff...). Not a total disaster, but better to dig out the original.

Obviously a lot of Rob Zombie fans in this thread. My verdict on this film is crap!!
Did not like, did not enjoy, cast were awful and very little like the original film at all.
I agree dig out the original anyday. Infact I would happily pay to see the original at the cinema:)

i saw it and now i want the two hours i dedicated to it back!

the first part is a pointless prequel- i dont want to see a young micheal myers and i have no interest in seeing what made the monster because i have imagination and i dont see why we are getting so many of these horror prequels which have to overexplain every last detail.

the second part was more or less a carbon copy of the original, the only changes are that rob zombie has substituted tension and suspense for gore and that the teenagers are now are more obnoxious and have mobile phones. Reimagining? Rob Zombie must have the worst imagination ever because this offers nothing over the classic original.

do yourself a favour and check out the original over this (in fact even Halloween 3 is better than this).

I really enjoyed it but I'm a Halloween series fan.I think this was a movie made firmly for fans of the franchise (it realistically could not be much more what with being the 9th in a franchise).

It's obvious by the third act that Rob (despite all the talk of reimagining) had nowhere near a full say it the movie's direction and is following orders on what he can/can't do with the Myers character.
But I got what I wanted after Halloween:Ressurrection,a brutal retro horror that made Myers an intimidating figure one again with no comedy whatsoever.

I'd give it 7/10 but like I'd say unless you are a fan of the character (or franchise) it's 50/50 whether you'll like it or not.

This is a perfect example of how I expect ALL the reviews to yet come from seeing this awful remake. I couldn't wait for the film to end let ago begin:eek:

I don't think the second half bares any resemblence to the original, apart from some small scenes. Since when did all victims end up in the old Myers house? A house which is so easy to get in but impossible to get out!
The only reason for the prequel part of the story is so Rob Zombie can claim this as his film.
Radio One were right when reviewing films Thursday afternoon. Saying 'We can't review Halloween as it has not had a preview, obviously for the reason that it's so fantastic that they can't risk spoiling it, only that we doubt that very much and it's infact going to be very bad'.:D They wern't wrong.

Eh?

How do you guys get to see it before it has been released?
Also, what the hell is a 'workprint'?

Do you guys all work in the film industry then?

Huh? It's at the cinema!

Unless you mean how do we see it before it's released at UK cinemas?

I think people have certain
slightly illegal
ways, although I don't know, as I'd never do such a thing ;)
