Halloween 9

Good points you have there. I agree i dont think they will go for the John Strode storyline. It would be suicide to recast the role. Josh Hartnet will never reprise the role. I would like to see Tommy Doyle return, An interesting concept would be to pair him up with lynRABey wallace. Mind you i dont see it.

Sherriff Brackett would be a fab choice to return. You could write him in to the missing years idea. A son of Dr loomis is possible.

I would like to see Sara Moyer's(Biancia Kajlich) character return fron resurection. I dont know but for some reason I have always thought they may have been a link between Sara Moyer and Micheal Myers. Why does it appear that Micheal Myers seems to stalk Sara in a resurection( myers car is seen outside the shop window) Although certain parts of this scene are delted. Another starnge connection is the doll sara moyer owns. its the same(or similar) As Lauries at the begining(She hides her pills in) Also Laurie has the same doll in the original halloween when she see's myers in her backgarden. Also in resurection sara finRAB another doll under the myers house where Michael has been living. There are a lot of deleted Scenes from halloween resurection. The original start for instance!! The film's original opening featured footage from a home video/cine 8mm of the Myers', featuring Peter and Margaret Myers in 1962 with their three children, Judith, Michael, and a new-born Laurie, having fun in the back yard of their house. Michael can be seen in the clips trying to divert the camera away from him, as he does not want to be filmed. However, Peter manages to get him to face the camera, and zooms in on Michael's face. The shot continues zooming through Michael's "black" eyes and opens up in the sanitarium hallway

Please i hope Buster Rhymes never returns.

hey Pirate and Pacific ,, you have some good idea's there mates.
it shows you have given real thought and research to your idea's .. hopefully if they do make the movie they will ask some real fans for idea's.

I'm just wondering though what exactly does Rob Zombie have in mind to re-invent the Halloween series. Apparently, this new film won't be a sequel either. I really hope it doesn't end up like Halloween 3 and have very little reference to Michael Myers himself.
I can't wait to read the storyline for this new film though, it will be interesting to see what Zombie comes up with.

Another halloween 3 type film without Michael Myers. I hope not!!! I dont think Dimension Films would gamble on not featuring Myers in the next halloween film. They know if thet did't have Micheal myers it would be finiancial suicide and well taking the piss out of the loyal fans. One thing for sure is that I cant wait to see Rob Zombies vision of halloween. Either way its going to be interesting.

I like halloween 3 in a strange way. :o Ok very dated now but a tight little chiller in its own right!!! would have been better dropping the halloween name tag or at least the part 3 and kept season of the witch. It was John carpenters original intention to do a halloween Film every year featuring a new halloween story(Not involving M Myers) But after the very poor box office takings of halloween 3 soon sold the right to the franchise

Couldn't agree with you more about Busta Rhymes, Videopirate! lol. He was downright awful in Resurrection and those scenes where he "dissed" Micheal, extreme cringe material. And I also agree, Sara was an interesting enough character. I got the impression with that film and character they might have been trying to build up a potential new lead to carry the franchise on. She was likable enough, and the way they made her pretty much the polar oppisite of the typical slasher heroine (much in keeping with Laurie in the original I suppose) was interesting, and they didn't take it to far, if you get what I mean. They didn't make her some butch, independant almost lesbian as far from the typical lead girl , lol.

The Resurrection dvd sounRAB good, if i can get it for a decent price, i'll see if i can buy it off ebay. As well as that producer's cut of 6, that sounRAB really interesting.

But I think i put off buying Resurrection because of a pretty bad cinema experience, lol. There were people walking out before the end and plenty of laughs at the unintentionally hilarious, but downright terrible dialogue. Plus some of the murder scenes were just ridiculous.

Oh and good ideas for possible returnees. I think the likeliest is probably Sara though. I'm not sure if they could pull the ninth one off, but saying that I thought the Texas remake was going to be bad, but it wasn't half bad, and they made it original enough, put in some nice twists and so on. I think i'd really like to see an almost-remake. I don't know, something relatively similar to the first movie, or at least a fairly confined setting. I think with the next film, there neeRAB to be a strong, well executed movie before they move on to build up on the mythology or try and take the character off in a new direction. They need to earn back some respect for the franchise, and once they've done that, they can move the film's on.

Not sure if anyones seen this but this is a quote from Rob Zombies blog on his official Myspace page

" HALLOWEEN

Okay here's the real deal for those of you who are confused. As I said yesterday - I am not making Halloween 9. That series is done, complete, over.

But what I am doing is starting totally from from scratch. This the new HALLOWEEN. Call it a remake, an update, a reimaging or whatever, but one thing that for sure is this is a whole new start... a new begining with no connection to the other series. That is exactly why the project appeals to me. I can take it and run with it.

I talked to John Carpenter about this the other day and he said, "Go for it, Rob. Make it your own". And that's exactly what I intend to do."

I don't know about anyone else, but this suggests to me that the next Halloween film will probably not feature Michael Myers with him talking about a fresh start and a new beginning and having no relation to the other Halloween movies.
This will be the biggest mistake in the entire Halloween franchise if Zombie does this. I just hope this doesn't happen.

I agree if no Michael Myers then the franchise is dead. Although i'm not to sure if i believe the blog from rob Zombie. Two weeks ago he was denying he was making it. I really cant see Dimension films using the franchise without the main character. Michael Myers is the main appeal. The Boogyman!!! I just hope if they reinvent they kind of remake the original but from maybe Zombies point of view instead of carpenters. But again I dont see this. The late Moustapha Akkad loved the Michael Myers Character i really dont see his Son Malek destroying the franchise by not featuring Michael Myers. after all This film will be in memory of Moustapha Akkad.

I still can't work out how Michael Myers survived in the last 1, with the fire and electricity and everything. Theres a line between being slightly far-fetched and damn impossible!
Nonethelesss I love the Halloween films and cannot wait for H9!!

Bugger Michael Myers, that idea got old by the end of Halloween 2.
If it's not a shot for shot remake of the underrated Halloween: Season of the Witch then I ain't going

I like Rob zombie and really enjoyed House of 1000 corpses and the devils rejects. But i'm not sure Zombie is right for the halloween franchise. His films are more raw and i dont think the fans will like if he completly re-invents the halloween storyline. One thing that I'm sure of now is that i think this will be the last in the series. :) I feel the series neeRAB slight re-invention but also neeRAB something familiar to keep the halloween continutiy going. The script for halloween 9 neeRAB to be sharp. Maybe rob Zombie will be ok in the directers chair, but I would prefer if the script was written by someone else. Maybe Daniel FarranRAB his original script for halloween 6 was awesome and so original but also stayed quite faithful to Carpenters and The late debra hills original script.

I hope Halloween is never remade!! You cant mess with a classic. The film is near enough faultless, Look what happened when Gus Van sant remade Psycho!!! It was shot exactaly as a carbon copy and to me turned out quite poor. A pointless remake. A halloween remake would cheapen the John carpenters original. Some remakes have been good. The Texas Chainsaw massacre was a good example of how to do a remake, but this now has spawned a Prequel that is in its final stage of production.

Re Nadias_balls: You should try to see Halloween 6 the producers Cut. many people are so surprised how good this film is. Its not like the thearical version, totaly no comparison. The last 30mins of the film of the film are fantastic with a great twist ending. halloween resurection also comes in to versions. The original Cut was called halloween homecoming and copys can be found from time to time on ebay etc or halloween fan forums. This cut is the one that has the alternative start and the original CSI ending.

I suppose the only hope we can cling onto is that Rob Zombie apparently said in his interview on the BBC website that 'The new film will be something different, something which nobody else has done with the series before' (not quoted word for word, but he said something like that).
It could be Zombie will explain the background behind why Michael Myers ended up being evil, something of a prequel to when Michael was a kid perhaps.
There could be various things Zombie could do here. I just hope he doesn't ruin the franchise by changing the concept of the original Halloween too much.

I'm a worried man. But at this moment all we can do is speculate on what Rob zombie will do. October 2007 is far off. i presume many things will change and the rumour mill will be working overtime as usual.

I got this from www.halloweenmovies.com

We are doing an exclusive interview with Rob for the website and we want to use YOUR questions for the interview! Got a question for Rob about his involvement in the next HALLOWEEN film? Email it to [email protected] and we'll get it right over to him.

cant wait to hear what he is going to say about the new halloween film. I hope this will clear up afew things

Out of interest, how did the original producer's cut of Halloween 6 end? I've only saw this film on Channel 5 a few years ago, but I think this must have had the thearical version with this being a TV screening.

Yes this is a very good idea and will clear up all the worry about the next Halloween film. I'm going to email him a few questions myself when I get home from work.
I just hope the next film does feature Michael Myers. Surely he wouldn't risk not featuring Myers in the new film. But you never know.
I will be keeping a close eye on the Halloweenmovies website from now on.

It was the theatrical version you watched. The producers cut has never been released. you can get copys on ebay. i ts definetly worth checking out as its a far supieror film

Tommy doyle usesThe runes which stop Micheal Myers in his tracks. Dr loomis runs back into Smiths Grove to see myers on the ground apartly dead when his hand reaches out and grabs him. The mask is removed and reveals that this is dr wynn(who earlier was reveled as the man in black and he says to loomis its your problem now and the Curse of thorn tattoo appears on loomis's arm as he screams. Then we cut to a shot of the man in black walking away to freedom(Myers pulled a switch with Dr Wynn)
