Halloween 3 (2011)

Agree with you about Freddy, well almost because number 3 is just hilariously brillant and a damn good watch.LOOL. i didn't really like 2 4 5 and 6 though i haven't seen the remake yet though.

I heard Recently that the the original 3 was supposed to be a halloween anthology based away from the main series and a different one would be released every year, Then the studio got hol of it and renamed it Halloween 3 instead of Halloween: Season of the witch.

As regarRAB to a sequal to the remakes, the 1st remake was aweful and very poor, very boring and the whole point of the original was that everything was normal about the family and the shape was just poor evil, it was so poor I never got round to watching the second. The originals are far better than the tripe Zombie put out. And SounRAB like they are cashing in on the 3D craze, but with the right script and director it could turn out a gem like H20 was

Yup, only decent Halloween film made beside the first two was H20.

H3 doesn't count as it deviated from the Haddonfield story, 4, 5 & 6 were utter garbage and Resurrection was pants. The first RZ retelling was interesting but nothing on the original and H2 was shite.

Sorry, I still have a little bee in my bonnet about H2! It's only because I watched it a few nights ago for the first time and was very disappointed... I'll get over it!

Can anyone explain the film to me, I just didn't understand it. The white horse, the mother's ghost, young Michael's ghost, the pumpkin-head freaks (huh??), why Laurie is sharing Michael's visions, why she emerges in the last scene wearing the mask, why Michael repeats his childhood behaviour of putting the mask on to turn evil yet abondons that habit soon into the film and starts slaughtering people without the mask on, why Laurie enRAB up in the psyche ward staring at her mother's ghost?

When it finished with her walking out of the barn in Michael's mask and then cuts to the scene of her looking crazy in the psyche ward, I thought it was a twist at furst; that Michael hadn't been back at all and it was her doing all the killing. I just don't get the storyline of the film, it's unnecessarily convoluted.

Season of the Witch was written by Nigel Kneale(writer of the Quatermass stories),as John Carpenter loved the Quatermass series, and when Dino De Laurentiis said he didn't like the story and wanted more Gore(as Kneales story was more subtle psychological horror),Nigel asked for his name to be removed from the film as writer as he no longer believed in the film, its another example where Studio Execs should leave well alone and let the creative team get on with making the best film they can

The musical score was identical in places. I didn't notice any obvious references either, I think it's more the films were of the same era.

Halloween H20 has a similar feel and tone to Scream. It involved Kevin Williamson and the 1996 hit movie had set a new benchmark for slashers,so it's not really surprising.

I don't think they can continue the Rob Zombie universe because the whole thing would seem even dumber - i.e human Myers able to return from what happened in H2.The orginal Halloween series, which became very convoluted and confusing, was dead by the end of Resurrection.Michael had become a near comedy cliche and the basic slasher format was so redundant they were using rappers as a special attraction.

Should Hollywood make a Halloween 3,it should search for a fresh take on a well worn story. There are only so many ways you can take the old masked-man-stalking-teens slasher. It probably wouldn't be financially viable either,if judged by the box office returns of Resurrection and H2.

The Halloween remake was awful. I love that the original left Michael to our imagination - we didn't really know why he did what he did. Then the remake went down the childhood abuse route, and made him some kid who masturbates over dead animals. Typical serial killer stuff. Then there was all the unnecessary swearing and nudity just for the sake of it.

Then there was the sequel. I thought the remake was bad, but the sequel to the remake was just AWFUL! I have seen a lot of stupid movies, but this one takes the cake. There was nothing redeeming about it at all. 4.9/10 on IMDb is too high for this steaming pile of shit.

If there is a third movie, at least then whatever is left of Rob Zombie's reputation will be completely destroyed when he butchers it and we'll live in peace knowing his shitty movies will never again plague our screens.

i hope to god that rob zombie doesn't do it !!!!. and i hope that it doesn't carry on from his vision !. the first one was ok but the second one took the piss out of everything that john carpenter made of michael !!!.

Co produced by Kevin Williamson that guy that wrote.... Scream
Features ALOT of references to the first two scream films actually.
H20 was treading in my eyes a fine line with being "hip" and had alot of horror in jokes but wasn't as obvious as the Scream films.
I thought H20 was ok but i think its own sequel ruined it.

Just finished watching Halloween 2007 and was sorely disappointed. I didn't expect the first half to be so full of moronic dialogue and constantly saying the F word for no other reason then to say the F word. I could see why Zombie chose to go down the whole "messed up childhood" route in order to explain why Myers is like he is but ultimately it just ended up taking away from the sinisterness of the original character. Cut to the second half and it was almost a scene for scene copy of the original movie only with less likeable characters. The soundtrack also felt less engaged with what was happening on screen and it failed to have as much impact on me as the original music even though it's basically the same.
As for Halloween 2. I didn't even make it through the full movie it was so bad.

As someone else said, I liked the original halloween becuase he was meant to be born evil, he's a monster basically, and we don't really know the reasons why he murdered people.
The whole child abuse, and bullying idea, took away the mystery, and ruined it for me.
The new halloween films are pointless, and I would rather just watch the originals.

Halloween was appalling, but then Zombie went one better and crapped all over the franchise with dire sequel when he turned Michael Myers into a hobo with a knife at the end

I also hope Rob Zombie isn't involved in the next Halloween film after watching the dire Zombie remake of Halloween 2 recently. His remake of the first Halloween was mostly really good I thought and gave us some insight into how Michael Myers became the mad psycho killer when he grew up, but Halloween 2 was just awful and did his first film no justice whatsoever,

I think it's time Hollywood moved on and forgot about Michael Myers, Kruger, Jason etc and focused on making new horror films featuring new monsters for today's generation of horror moviegoers, NOTHING will ever beable to beat the original versions of these films, yet Hollywood are still determined to cash in on these franchises and ruin them even further.

We will never get many original horror were hollywood is concerned, Remakes a cheaper to make, quick to make and are quaranteed to make a profit

People really need to start suporting independant films for anything to change but sadly its not happening
