Halloween 3 (2011)

Should it happen, I've been reading loaRAB of stuff by the people involved with the first two remakes about a possiable (no budget as of yet) third movie. If it does happen should they re make the Original third installment without Michael or carry on the story that the original series was never able to do so (Because Jamie Lee Curtis couldn't do number 4).

One article states that Laurie would be in an asylum with other girls, Michael isn't mentioned.

Hmmmmm,

No way, I don't think Rob Zombie should make a third film at all; he totally butchered the Halloween 2 sequel to the original retelling.

I actually quite enjoyed his rendition of the original film - peering into the psyche of a young Michael - but there was absolutely no rhyme or reason behind his sequel, it just didn't make sense and it moved into the realm of pretentious stupidity.

What is it with Teen Slashers and sequels? They always start with somewhat interesting first installments but rather than progress with the story, they flat out abandon the plot in favour of ridculousness and senseless gore.

Well that's a relief, he really unravelled himself as a good writer/director with his second installment of the Haddonfield Horrors; it was like stepping back to the 80s turbo sequel era.

Just checked Patrick's Wikipedia page:

and later goes on to say

lol! :D

I liked House Of A Thousand Corpses and The Devils Rejects.

But Rob Zombie is to the Halloween films what Michael Myers is to people!

He killed the series.

The Halloween series are among my very favourite films.
I didn't like the remake and haven't even bothered with H2.

Have to agree, Halloween is one of my favourite movies too so I knew it couldn't be bettered. For me, at least, the retelling was still enjoyable as it was more like a prequel; touching on ground that hadn't previously been explored. Though, I do totally detatch it from the John Carpenter movie and enjoy it for what it is.

However, with H2 it was like he was taking the p*ss out of 80s teen slashers; it's the only thing that can explain how awful, pretentious, ridiculous and stupid it was. Just incredibly shite.

Not sure how the 3rd movie will work,we know rob zombie wont be back, but will scout?will it take off from part 2s events or go back to the routine stalking stuff(kinnda boring at times),its a hard one to call,i enjoyed Rz's first halloween movie very much but the second was just weird,i see where he was going with the laurie and annie stuff but the loomis character i just didnt get, makes u wonder what rob told malcom about loomis's motives.

Zombie isnt coming back to do the 3rd, he has another film going into production next march i think

As for this next one they are just trying to cash in with all this 3D rubbish and i believe i read somewhere ( dont quote me on this) that Tyler Mane did sign on to do this 3rd one

and just for the record H2 was great, way better than his first :D

If they did make another one (and i'd rather they didn't), i hope they start from scratch with another set of characters. The girl who played Laurie in the remake series was horrendous.

It's not very often I fall asleep while watching a movie, but I watched Rob Zombie's Halloween II (Unrated Directors' Edition) last night, and I nodded off about 3 times !

Halloween 1 and 2 are classics.

Halloween 4 is atcully okay, and dosen't deserve the grief it gets.

Halloween 5 could have been good, but it was a tad wierd and confuising, therefore boring. The bit at the end where he kidnapped jamie, and someone new let her out was just stupid.

Halloween 6 rather pants.

Halloween H20 is the best of the series in my opinion

Halloween Remake is very good and i like how it goes into the lifeof Michael and missed out all the parts the original missed. The fact that every woman had thier tits out was a bit over the top however and it was a bit long.

Halloween 2 Remake The script was bad, therefore such a terriable film.

I fell asleep during Casino Royale.(2006)

I hadn't slept the night before, but still!

I put it on the next night and having not slept properly again I fell asleep again!

Needless to say I don't have fond memories of Casino Royale.:D

"Halloween 1 & 2 were classics": I agree, and think that H20 is a modern classic. As for the rest, not in the same ball park.

When I first saw the Halloween remake I was quite disappointed because I don't like the way it took the enigmatic persona of Michael and humanised it. I think it undermined the biggest strength of his character (I like most of my psycho killers that way, hate it when sequels delve into the psyche of a serial killer and humanise them) but when I rewatched it, I removed the original film from my mind and quite enjoyed the backstory as an abstract addition to the film; but holding no relationship to the original Michael Myers character.

Getting on to my other favourite teen slasher - Freddy Kruegar - I enjoyed number 1 but the way they turned him into a gimmick destroyed it. For me, there's the original, then I ignore all the sequels and Freddy's New Nightmare is number 2. The ones in between were shite and carried on against Wes's wishes, they totally butchered the character.

H20 reminded me a little too much of Scream to be honest - some of the music was exactly the same - but the acting's great, and the location is superbly scary.

I saw the RZ remake and immediately erased it from my mind. :D
