Halloween 2

Halloween, Halloween II (both Carpenter) and Halloween:H20 make the perfect Halloween trilogy....the ZOmbie one was awful and added a pointless unnecessary Myers backstory

I think they've well forgotten about the John Character. I'd say something if he was at least in Resurrection, but they just dismissed him.

Halloween 5,6 and 8 weren't up to much but I do like Halloween 4 and feel it was a decent movie.

The main characters were genuinely likeable, the storyline wasn't really incoherent and it was technically very well made. They also got the feel of late October spot on.The dialogue was quite good too and I liked the effective shock ending.

I'd give it 5/10,which is quite a feat for a 3rd horror sequel!

yes i am serious, robs film had a different feel and style to the original all the way though, the plot had to be the same as it was a remake but the way it was done was very different

people criticise robs halloweens but i think they forget the abismal efforts after the first original two

Here's my ratings out of ten of the Halloween films made so far:

Halloween 10/10
Halloween 2 7/10
Halloween 3 4/10
Halloween 4: Revenge of Michael Myers 5/10
Halloween 5: Return of Michael Myers 3/10
Halloween 6: Curse of Michael Myers 3/10
Halloween H20 8/10
Halloween Resurrection 5/10
Halloween (remake) 4/10

I think, sadly, the Halloween films are running out of steam again. I thought Rob Zombie's Halloween was ok in parts, but I didn't think much of it overall, particularly towarRAB the end.

For me the best Halloween sequel is definately Halloween H20, much better than Halloween 2 in fact. After this was released I thought great we are getting a really good Halloween film for once, but then when Resurrection came out in 2002 the series flopped again.

I think it's probably time to call it a day, unless John Carpenter can be persuaded to make a new Halloween film which is unlikely.
