Halloween 2

I do the whole three on Halloween night. Halloween, Halloween II and H20:D

I don't sleep a wink after though when ther house goes silent and I can hear the creaks:D:D

Are you serious? After the first 45 minutes or so (which admittedly was pretty good as long as you don't treat it as being part of the original films' storylines) it was just a straight rip off of the original 'Halloween', just with added gore, excessive swearing, and considerably less atmosphere (i'm far from a prude, but the script seemed to have been written by a 5 year old that just heard the F word used for the first time in the playground at school! lol).

I'll still go and see H2 regardless of the bad reviews and the fact that i disliked the remake, purely because it's Halloween, but i'm not expecting much. H20 was the last good 'Halloween' movie, and that was over a decade ago.

Am pretty sure I read an interview some time ago with John Carpenter (sorry don't have the link) that he didn't particularly want to make Halloween 2 but did it for the money and wrote the script whilst drunk.

I'll give it a watch - I really Enjoyed Rob Zombie's version of Halloween so if it's like that I'll enjoy it.
I would say I like his movies in general as I love Devil's Rejects (he's so obsessed with famous serial killers - almost every scene has a reference to one of them) but House of a 1000 corpses was atrocious & I couldn't sit through another film like that - even for the oddly sexy Sherry Moon-Zombie.

That's right, he was basically forced into making II, and always regretted adding the brother/sister twist. Jamie Lee Curtis was reluctant to do it as well. For me though, that only makes it more impressive that II turned out as well as it did :D

EDIT: Oh, the bit about doing it for money, I'm pretty sure that's not right. I think the higher ups told Carpenter they were going to make II with or without him, and Carpenter decided to take part so that he could at least kill off Michael Myers to prevent any future sequels (haha, look how well that turned out!)

I'm not expecting much from this. Rob Zombie is a terrible writer/director, didn't care for his reimagining of the original Halloween at all.

I like the first Halloween II. It's not as good as the original but still the only Halloween sequel worth watching. The series should have ended there.

Completely agree.
The other "Halloween" movies were absolute tripe.
Most horror fans even praise the third and I can't understand it because Michael wasn't even in it for goRAB sake. :S

If i were to grade the films then they would go like this:

Halloween: 10/10
Halloween 2: 8/10
Halloween 3: Never seen it.
Halloween 4: 7/10
Halloween 5: 4/10
Halloween 6: 5/10
Halloween H20: 9/10
Halloween Resurrection (A.K.A. Michael Vs Busta): 3/10
Halloween (2007): 5/10

I've got a soft spot for H20, some say it ripped off the Scream movies, but imo it learned from them and was a better film because of it. Plus i liked the way that we caught up with Laurie 20 years later. It definitely should have ended with Laurie chopping off Michael's head though, that was the perfect ending. Resurrection was a travesty, after the opening 20 minutes it could have been a fan film made by a bunch of A level Media students, not to mention Busta Rhymes going one-on-one with Myers which was laughable, especially when he started shouting at him "Mikey! You stupid mo'f*cka!"...

However, with the exception of 'Resurrection', i can still watch them all if they are on TV, regardless of the actual quality of some of the middle sequels. Afterall, it's Michael Myers slashing up stupid teens! What's not to like, lol. The same goes for the 'Friday the 13th' series, but i feel that the 'Friday the 13th' films get away with having really bad story's because they are still fun to watch as it's more about the inventive kills than plot.

Do they? All i've ever heard is that horror fans think it's shite.

I've never actually watched it myself, if it's not got Michael in it then it's not Halloween.

Halloween 3 was just a nasty little totally 80's horror movie.Decent idea, started well but went straight to hell.

Funny you should say Halloween isn't Halloween without Myers because Carpenter sure as hell didn't intend it that way.

He didn't want a sequel (which is why it took 3 years to happen) but was ok with the name being used as stand alone horror tales. Also worth noting that the Myers character wasn't very popular at all until the late 80's when back to back movies were produced.Jason Vorhees was much more recognizable (and bankable) for many years, maybe still is...

I agree that the series should have ended there and not all those crap sequels they gave us, but I'm glad Halloween:H20 was released. It's a good film.

Her character couldn't go any further though. It would just be another slasher with Michael tracking her down and trying to kill her.

She put John into hiding though. There was nothing about that after:confused::confused:

I know, but it's like they made the story beforehand of her surviving pointless and meaningless, there was no need to bring her into the film at all, that's what I didn't like. The rest of the film was killing off nobodies in his old home, or whatever it was. It's still one of the worst things in the film.

i quite like halloween 2. they reshot the murders to make them gorier as friday 13th had just come out and been a massive hit

H3 is good too i think. it freaked me out and is such a downer of a film

the plan was to make a different horror film each year under the name 'halloween' but after H3 flopped they didnt bother.

H4 is ok - 5 and 6 are tripe.

H20 is very good but yr right about it being more like 'scream'

resurrection was embarrassing

Just had another look at the boarRAB where the same people enjoyed it and it seems they're also into really awful bottom of the barrel stuff too.
Let's just say that anyone who sits through H3 with good taste will come to the conclusion that this is a turd that should be well and truly flushed away.

They need to do a sequel(?) with John. Michael was after him too after learning that he was his nephew!! Not all this crap with Zombie writing the scripts!
