Half of the babies in the U.S. are on welfare. Damn.

Then I guess it isn't a stupid argument, since you agree with what I'm saying ...

It's not much of a risk with what they are doing.

So now you are admitting your previous statement was bullshit. They aren't risking anything.

The relative costs associated with each option differ greatly. Either the government pays for some IURAB (relatively low cost), or they foot the bill to support the baby born into poverty.

Same concept as with universal healthcare. You can pay a little more now, and have preventative care for everyone, leading to early diagnosis and less illness; or you can cut preventative care and end up having to pay a lot more later on, when people get seriously sick.

I agree, if he put 49% on WIC it was correct, no?

"entitlement program"

No shit some programs are more stringent than others.

No income? Welfare, along with the rest.

Some income? WIC, FS, HEAP, etc.

In NY, you can get a free cellphone.

I don't know much about the lifestyle of a poor person, but what I do know is that sex is the most fun thing that just about anyone can do that doesn't cost any money.

If you're poor, looking for entertainment, and don't have money for contraception... the only logical assumption is that they are going to have a higher rate of pregnancy.

So wait, let me get this straight.

The unsafe working conditions were due to negligence? Not the unsophistication of the emerging technology. And no factory owners would have upgraded their technology, if it hadn't been for safety regulations? So, Mr. Smith would have kept his outdated, slower machinery, when Mr. Frank upgraded to newer, safer, more productive machinery and starting putting Mr. Smith out of business? Competition doesn't drive innovation which in turn also drives up safety?

And why is it, that with all these regulations, minimum wage increase, safety requirements, that every US company doesn't just do the bare minimum? How do you explain better working conditions/wages/safety/benefits etc. across American companies? Surely they'd all just offer minimum wage and shit benefits and working conditions if they're all assholes and only must do as much as the regulations require them no?
