Hairspray sequel

OMG!! Since John Waters has never actually produced a sequel to any of his films it will be interesting to see what he comes up with. Can't say I'm overly thrilled by the prospect though.

Hairspray is my favourite film ever....but yet i'm really not thrilled about this. It's an obvious cash in. The first film was perfect and self contained. *curses mamma mia for doing so well*...*then strokes it and kisses it better*

I mean? Where would they go with this?

The revenge of the Von Tussles?
Edna's diet?
The expansion of the Hardy Har?
Tracy's quest to become the first all singing, all dancing, slightly chunky female astronaut?

I have a very bad feeling about this.

I wouldn't normally think it's a good idea but with John Waters, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman all returning, I'm kind of interested.

I'm gonna give John Waters the benifit of the doubt, he did write the original hairspray, so maybe he's always had an idea for a sequel...lets just hope it's a good one.

Maybe this time it'll be about homophobia instead of racism. Or the Corney Collins show getting cancelled.

I don't think we should judge until we know more about it. You never know, the sequel could be better than the first one...unlikely, but it could happen.

If Nikki Blonsky plays Tracey and Zac Efron is Link i will be happy with the sequel LOL.

Honestly, i think with John walters on board plus the main producers from the film last year it will be good.

John walters won't **** up his own work, he wouldn't have agreed to writing a sequel if he didn't have a good idea what it would be and work.

I think it will be good, lets just wait and see.

You wanna try reading Flamingos Forever, the sequel he wrote for Pink Flamingos. No wonder he never got it funded, it was just crap (and not good crap in a Pink Flamingos way).

There was a time when I would have had every faith in Waters pulling off a project like Hairspray 2, but these days I'm not so sure.
