I love Hairspray. I remember watching it and thinking it was the most fun I'd had watching a film in a long time. IT'S AMAZING!!! The songs are all so catchy and make you want to dance, the dances were amazingly choreographed, and overall it's just a very fun, feel-good movie. It'll leave you smiling for ages! The young cast were all excellent - newcomers Nikki Blonsky and Elijah Wood really made a name for themselves in this film, and even though I've despised Amanda Bynes and Zac Efron for The Amanda Show and HSM respectively, they were both really good in this, particularly the latter. And he was unbearably hot. All the adults were great too, although I was a little bit unimpressed with Christopher Walken. But it didn't annoy me enough to take away from enjoying the rest of the film. Brilliant!

Hey fellow Hairspray fans!!

I can not wait to get Hairspray on DVD!! I was at Walmart tonight and even asked an employee if I could go ahead and pick up a copy. Yea, he definitely didn't go for it. :goof: He suggested I come back at midnight...

Oh, wow, that's interesting! I had no idea they were considering a sequel. Hmm...I loved the original so I'd definitely go see the sequel, I just hope it'd be as good, or at least, decent enough. I'd be really disappointed and annoyed if it was mediocre.

Zac was recently pictured ‘giving cancer the bird’ with cousin and cancer survivor Emily Hobson in support of the charity I’m Too Young For This. I am one of the staff members on ZAAngels.com & we have teamed up with the I’m Too Young For This Cancer Foundation to bring you a great way to join Zac, give back and support young adults by ‘giving cancer the bird’.

There are three simple steps to winning some great prizes and supporting a very worthwhile cause, just like Zac!

arghh I was also disappointed when the Oscar nominations announced and many movies, including Hairspray, are overlooked :(

Aww I have never been to this board but I love love LOVE this movie! I saw it three times when it was in theaters

I saw the super duper whatever special edition today..my friend and I kept looking at the lockers..so adorable

Finally saw this movie and I can't believe I'm gonna say this, I never actually thought I would say this but...

John Travolta totally ruined the movie for me!

He should just stick to those old Grease days. I couldn't get passed the idea that he was the girls' mother. That bugged me to the Nth degree.

I love Hairspray. I'm a total dork and saw it in the theatres 8 times. I can't wait for the dvd and the special features. I want to see some behind the scenes Zikki moments. :D

Really? Well, here, in Spain, I don't know if there are gonna be any offers like that... I don't even know when it's coming out.

the main movie disc has some features...haven't got a chance to go through them all yet..there's an option to see dance rehearsals and recording clips from the songs. I think there is also a feature where you can learn the choreography but i haven't looked at that yet lol. There are also 2 commentaries..i've listened to the one with Nikki and Adamn and really liked it..they get along so well and it was nice hearing some of the on-set stories from them lol.

the special features disc..has deleted scenes...including the performance of "I Can Wait" which was cut out of the movie completely. There are also options of where you can listen to people talk about Hairspray...the original '80s movie, the broadway show and this movie....really interesting to watch. And theres a documentary on this film..really long so it's broken down into "chapters"...goes into detail about the casting, recording, filming...very cool to watch.

i think i mentioned them all lol

Wahey, sparkly new thread! I LOVE THIS MOVIE. And need to watch it again - I kept meaning to see it again in the cinema, but work was so insane :( that I never got the chance to. But I definitely want to see it again. The soundtrack has been my constant companion for the last couple of months now, ever since I first saw it and went mad for it.
