Hair dye emergency, please answer, 10 points?

Ok so I have had black hair for a little over a year now and I recently decided I want to go back to blonde. My hairdresser will not bleach my hair because she said it's unhealthy and it would most likely turn my hair some hideous pumpkin orange shade. I went to sally's, they weren't very helpful. So finally I said, you know what, I'm just gonna do this myself. So I had an idea. Why not get a brown dye and dye it brown first, since you can't go directly from black to blonde. So I bought a brown dye and dyed my hair today. NOW, here's what really has me stressed. My roots have been coming in lately since I haven't redyed my hair for about 2 months ... maybe? maybe a month I'm not sure it's been a while though. My roots are now a golden light brown and the rest of my hair is just as black as before...What do I do? I am planning on still using the blonde dye in a day or two simply because it's apparently an at home bleach kit but its supposed to be a lot easier on hair and has less damaging effects if any. It's called SUPER BLONDE from L'oreal and on the back it even specifically says "takes even dark hair to a pure translucent, shining result in one simple step - yet is easy on your hair" so what's your take on this? I'm desperate. I don't want my hair falling out but I don't want to wait a million years either. I probably should've waited but I didn't. I have a date with my boyfriend towards the end of the week and I don't want to look freakish like I do now, please don't say go back to black or don't do it, I'm not going back to black and I can't just leave my hair like this. (P.S I can NOT afford highlights or bleaching or anything that requires a professional atm)
