H@H services...

So I have some questions about this service and I was hoping someone could help me out. I have poor reception at my home, which really sucks! I know with H@H I don't have 2 worry about the reception, but what about my texting? Will those come through? And sometimes I do international calling, can I still make the international call through H@H? Even if its not free! I just want 2 make sure that I will have good reception!I would appreciate it if someone could get back 2 me on these questions! Thanx in advance!

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~yeah your text messages and everything will still come through just like normal, those get delivered to you based on your reception. Your international calls will be normal, but they won't be free. If you have the 8320 you don't even need the hotspot at home feature extra on your bill and you will still be able to call through your internet connection, it will just take your minutes, but you will still need your router in order to do so.

Actually, I've been told the exact opposite by two local in store reps and my business rep. You can use the WiFi for data etc, but no calls will be made through it without the H@H add on. Mind you I could have been given incorrect info... but I'm pretty sure this is the case. Anyone else?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~you can still call through the internet and everything I know because I'm doin it, and I never had service in my house and now I can call out and everything, and hey. Keep in mind I've worked for tmobile for a year. I think I got it down

OK, just got clarification from another thread as well as my rep. You can make calls with it even without the add on, so I was wrong there. However those calls will count agains your plan minutes unless you have the H@H on your plan. Sorry for any confusion. As for myself, I definitely need to reduce my minutes so it's worth the extra $10 for me.

Does the wifi calling with H@H only count if it says UMA in the top corner? Or can it say Edge but next to T-Mobile it says your network name?

I always catch myself to wait for the UMA before making a call...

Yes, MrNeef, H@H calls are free only when UMA is connected. If Edge is displayed while you are connected to Wi-Fi, your data is transmitted via wi-fi but your calls transmit on EDGE (and count towards your minutes).

Knemo hit the nail on the head. You need to make sure your phone has established that UMA connection before making calls if you want to use the H@H minutes.

I will say that the voice quality on those calls is excellent. I have had issues transferring between UMA and EDGE though.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~so basically now I should be getting almost 100% signal at my home? And regardless if its a text or a call I should have perfect or nearly perfect signal, correct??? Sorry guys, I'm have a dumb moment. I should be getting the 8320 hopefully this weekend but I got the H@H plan when they were doing the promo, so I will be payin $19.99 for a family plan.
