A guy bought my used car and now wants to return it, but I don't want the car back. He claims that after he drove it for 2 hours (after he had just bought it) that its radiator was leaking and that he believes that I had known about it. He checked the car inside and outside and I even let him test drive it. I know for a fact that it was not leaking because I had also used the car on that same day to go to work and when he test drove it there was not problems, he just gave me the money and we signed the pink slip and in 2 hours he was telling me the trouble. What are my options, do I have to give him back his money? Because I believe a deal is a deal that he bought it as is and that it is his problem if it really does have a leak.
What do you guys think and what is the law in california about these transactions?

Thank You

Did you give him a bill of sale stating as is where is for condition? If so, he owns the car and it's his problem. If not, CA has some strange "Lemon Laws" and it could come down to a court case.

Used cars are always sold AS-IS so it's always up to the buyer to hire a mechanic to inspect it.

He chose not to so it's his own damn fault.

Stop taking his calls. If he sues he will lose 100%.

Unless you attached some kind of warranty to the vehicle, once you completed the transaction, you're off the hook. The buyer bought the car "as is" with the full understanding that the car was his.

For all you know, in the 2-hours he owned it, his friends, family, or neighbors might have told him he got a bad deal and there really is nothing wrong with the car.
