Gut instinct of the sex of your baby....?

Hi there

The hospital i go to will not tell you what sex you are having =( and is always sating not to ask the sonographer as you will be told no.

My q is did anyone have a gut instinct of what there baby was? I have had from day 1 and i think its a little girl.

Was anyone else adament of the sex they were having and were right?

I know this may sound a little silly but if i am having a girl she will have hormones right could it be them that are making me feel so strongly its a girl "i hope that makes sense" lol
I live in the uk
they say things are at the sonographers discretion even the scans are and they will not tell you the sex even if you want to know i think its unfair but nothing i can do.
Sorry to keep adding info.... i am not bothered really what i have its just slightly niggling now know even if the sonographer can make hints but they wont they will just refer it to as the baby! either sex i will still be buying neutral colours.
 
My gut instinct was a boy for my second. My first was a girl, and the pregnancies were so different. Different symptoms and cravings and I was carrying differently too.
I now have 2 little girls :-D
Instinct can trick you sometimes.
ADD - for those who are asking - many UK hospitals won't tell you the sex as many of the cultures that live in the uk don't want girls and will abort in that case. Unfair for those who would never dream of that, but it certainly protects all those potentially aborted baby girls.
 
I am not sure what I am having since i chose not to but I have a gut feeling its a girl and your statement at the bottom does make sense but I don't think that's why you get that feeling I think its just your hormones and your motherly instinct :) anyways good luck and congrats!! Its more fun not to find out haha!
 
Well, when I first got pregnant my father had passed away four months prior. I had a boys name dead set in my mind ( couldn't even think about a girls name,) and was preparing for my little boy even before I had the ultrasound.

This time we're trying to conceive, my grandmother has just passed away this past week, and I can think about are girls names. And yesterday the girl I babysits mother asked me if I wanted a few bags of girls baby clothes "just in case."

So, I think my gut instincts were right on.
 
I had a "gut" instinct I was having a girl. The strongest and strangest feeling I have ever had.. and.. i'm having a ... boy!! I was so shocked and surprised, but ecstatic. So no matter how you feel about it, or anyone else feels about it... its always going to be a 50/50 shot! Your doctor will tell you though won't he/she? I would of been going crazy if my hospital wouldn't of told me the sex! Best of luck to you and baby!
 
I felt I was having a boy both times and my first was a boy and This one is as well but I wouldn't rely on it Ya know?
 
With my first child I thought till the end that it will be a girl because I was not told at the hospital either,...when the day came and my baby was born I was really surprised to see that it was a boy!! I was very happy cause I wanted to have a boy...Im currently preg with baby no#2 and this time I will make sure that I will know before the baby is born! But the most important is that its born healthy whether its a boy or girl.Good luck hun :)
 
Why in heaven's name would they not tell you the sex of the baby?

If you want, you could go to one of those freelance ultrasound places. They will tell you the sex (if they can see it) and give you lots of pictures for mementos. Sometimes they can even make a video of the baby moving around for you, which is far superior to the still pictures, IMO.
 
When i was pregnant i was so convinced i am having a boy, and it turn out a girl. No, I don't trust instinct anymore.
 
I thought I was having a boy,and I did. I think that's more of a coincidence though.

If you want to know before I'm sure there is a 3D/4D ultrasound place that will give you a really cool picture and you'll know the sex!
