"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Let's just put it this way; Rossiu treated Lord Genome one way, and Simon another. He treated his mortal enemy better than his old ally. And it is quite simple to fake an execution for a skilled liar like Rossiu. He just doesn't want to.

Rossiu's government is built entirely on lies. And the reason he isn't willing to lie to save Simon is because that was not desired. He isn't going to spare his precious resources of deception on his former friend to save his life...
 
What cheerleader? Besides having Yoko dressed up as one in someone's fanart, I don't really see anyone cheering other than the people below on Earth for Simon and the gang to kick some butt up in space. If we're talking about Nia though, she's nothing more than a woman who's pretty much part of the Anti-Spiral race who, unlike those who wants to end the so-called conquest of Spiral Energy, wants to live a regular ordinary human life. The whole Heroes refernece is so old, not even Claire herself would think it's funny.

Anyway, I'm glad that she's saved...yadda, yadda, yadda, but we still have one episode left and it's gonna be the big one. Onward to next Monday when we say good-bye once again to our heroes and hope that one day every store will realize the awesomeness that should be sold to every kid and adult otaku alike so they too can become a part of Team Dai-Gurren since this show's been played twice now. You would think that something big from GL is coming up besides the first movie being played in select anime conventions. I'm still a little mad that it's not coming to Otakon, but whatever.
 
It probably will Manga ussally picks up movies for there series. And I saw both episodes that came on yesterday and I have to saw the transformation in 3 was great but 4 was just pointless filler.
 
Not to be the downer, but umm what else has been on Ani-Monday? lol

The series competition would be Gurren Lagann vs say Tokko, Noein, or Tactics. Not really stiff competition (although I do love Noein)

but none of those 3 had anywhere near the hype or interest of Gurren Lagann. It should be the best ratings for anything they've aired, because it's the best new content they've yet to air.
 
Oh yeah. Now I notice the Rei and Asuka lookalikes. But why no Haruko? Like you said, her costume is a reference to Daicon as well and considering how popular FLCL was, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer to shove her in there.

Oh and I thought Daicon IV was nothing more than a short film. At least that's the impression I got when I accidentally sturabled onto that YouTube video but it could just be a trailer for it. (I'd post links but I'm a little confused the subject at hand and whether that would be against forum policies or not)
 
Seems a stretch to call Genome's treatment better. I mean, he's a diserabodied head. Rossiu was there for Genome's final worRAB, and Rossiu wanted answers. He's using the head as a tool, and that's about that. It's using what's available to his advantage, not better treatment.
