"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Well the Dish went back on a minute before episode 2 started and stayed on through the whole episode, and I am glad. That was great. I can't wait until next week for episodes 3 and 4.

Well, that was fun. Great animation, great voice acting, interesting premise, and a great teaser at the beginning... I'm betting the guy on the spaceship was Simon grown up? So, he'll grow up to be badass. And a space pirate. Or something.

Well, I'll continue to watch, if only to have the spirit of manliness flow into me for one brief hour a week.

So, did it show up for last week?

Wow. The first two episodes garnered almost 300 replies. I wonder how many will reply this week. Also, I must say that the episode title for the 11 PM showing this week is one of the greatest episode titles I've ever read. Its just so...blunt.

Here's tonight's schedule:

11:00 PM: Episode 3 - "You Two-Faced Son Of A B****!!"
11:30 PM: Episode 4 - "Does Having So Many Faces Make You Great?"

All times are Eastern.

So basically, when it comes to episode 6, it's a matter of picking your poison. Crappy recap or ridiculous fanservice. Either way it's full of wasted time and a severe lack of the hot-blooded action that carries the show.

The good news is, it can only go up from here. Viral showing up ought to steer this thing back on course.

Verdicts for this week:

Episode 5: B
Episode 6: F

Well, it's about to start... I've had a whole night lined up to maximize my anime intake. The Naruto Movie/The Big O/Fullmetal Alchemist/Rurouni Kenshin/Yu Yu Hakusho/Gurren Lagann/Now and Then, Here and There!

5.5 hours total. Good stuff. Let's hope the top-off will be as good as I've heard.
