"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

"It's place for manly souls!"

Sorta-human Sorta-animal freak. That's sure showing him.

Yep. That's one way to corabine mecha.

Love how when he breaks apart the top of Viral's Ganmen's crest and wears it, it changes colors and turns into Gurren Lagann's new helmet.

Toji as Kamina would be interesting. The ADV dub also had Tiffany Grant (Asuka) as Yoko, which would also be interesting. That's the one thing that would have been good about the ADV dub, the Eva parallels, and I really wish Spike Spencer (Shinji) was Simon in this dub, although I only think he could voice him as a kid. Anyway, I don't think Brett Weaver could have been as good than Kyle Hebert.

Wow, it's actually reassuring to see someone not hating Rossiu. I'll admit at this point in the story he does seem to be the bad guy, but that's only because he's a very logical guy. He's always thought things through, even from the start, and I doubt that city would be nearly as organized and well kept if Rossiu had not been part of the original team. His personality may not fit in with everyone else, but that doesn't mean he's evil. From what I see his intentions are good. He's just willing to make sacrifices (although he clearly struggles with them) where as Simon refuses to back down. That's actually one of the more interesting scenes in the last episode is where Simon complements Rossiu on all he's done, despite their differences even he is willing to accept that Rossiu made a logical choice (although that may not be the right one).

But yeah, I think that Rossiu is easy to hate, but I really appreciate his character adding a new dimension to the story. I can understand all the hate, but I hope people come around to accept that he isn't a "bad guy". Despite all he's done, I'd say it's obvious that Simon and co. will still pull through.

My opinion of Steve Blum's Leeron: Wow. He's certainly showing off his range, and I definitely like it so far. Sure, it's a stereotypical "gay" voice, but so was the Japanese voice.

And in Episode 3, they introduce my least favorite element of the series: Yoko's crush on Kamina. It never really feels convincing, and there's already a nice little rapport between her and Simon that I like. Ah, well. Sam Regal, by the way, is great as Viral. Regal's also showing off his range, as he sounRAB nothing like he does in other shows I've seen him in (Haruhi Suzumiya, Ninja Turtles).

Last time...

Simon got his groove back, Squidward joined the Spiral King's forces, and another general bit the dust.

Understatement of the year folks.

Renton-type Rossio > Lelouch-type Rossio.

Hmm, how would Ichigo-type Rossio sound?
Ooh, or maybe Vash-the-Stampede-type Rossio?

This city's sure gone downhill in three episodes' time.

I think I liked Nia more when she was a not-pissing-off person.

You all right, Simon? You need to survive so they can execute you when you get back.
