"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

But, I'm interested in how Brett Weaver took on Kamina, though. I've heard some folks got to hear the ADV dub in some con in January.

Well he can't help his own nature, can he? It'd be just as bad if the other characters forced him to conform to their more over-the-top, hotblooded "Kick reason to the curb!" method of thinking. What everyone should be doing is reaching a compromise. There's a gross lack of communication and team-work going on.

Rossiu: Simon, I don't think that's a good i--
Simon: SCREW THE RULES, I HAVE A DRILL!
*BOOM! Splatter!*

Kittan: I don't think this a very fair trial at all!
Rossiu: Screw you all, I'm the only one with brains here. Now go play with your robots or something. Whoops, that's right I had them destroyed.

From what I read, the movies are only made for and will stay in Japan. I tried finding info on the first movie and turned up with nothing but a couple of trailers and a short 10-20 second clip.

I might've brought it up countless times but we better get the manga in the Set 03 Limited Edition.

I know people love Kamina, but does anyone else think he got eclipsed pretty handily? The early episodes had some good and some not-so-good parts. Then Kamina goes out in a blaze of glory, which is to his credit. After that though, Simon goes through so much and accomplishes such supreme feats that it seems to be very much a case of the student drastically surpassing the mentor. I mean, even before the time skip, Simon personally fights Lord Genome and defeats him.

I won't deny that he was the personification of confidence and morale for the group, I just wouldn't say that he's the greatest ever. I think he got a fitting cameo toward the end, being the guy to snap people out of their fantasies and rally them to kick ass one last time. His greatest strength was his optimism and being an inspiration to the rest, rather than his power as a fighter.

I'll admit that Simon/Kamina was probably the best pair for Gurren Lagann, though, with due respect to Viral.

No GaoGaiGar in that list? Failure.

Anyway, just to clarify for those thinking that the final battle resulted in the death of countless races: remeraber, it took place in the Anti-Spiral's dimension. There was nothing there except for the Anti-Spiral's forces.
