"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

Get in line Sammy. Viral's another one of those characters all the ladies want. I'm just glad he's not an emo, unlike some anime characters that the fangirls consistently drool over. (Not saying any names though)

Ohhhh! Right, right! Yes, it was intentional.

(I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was. But you never know. At least they didn't call him "Sy-mean-uuu")

This show isn't bad at all, the only episodes I have seen have been the last 3 and I may soon go back and check out the whole series to see what it's all about. I have only been watching Ani-Monday for the past couple weeks and a few times last year so I have not had much exposure to Gurren Lagann, but the last 3 episodes were really fun.

This is truth. Maybe that's what Simon wanted to do when he went all wandering Shaolin Monk.

This is what people want to see in their anime, as opposed to the slow and boring. That was my earlier point.

Another Monday, another two episodes of Gurren Lagann. Last week introduced Rossiu as well as the young siblings Gimmy and Darry, who left their naive village behind to travel with Team Gurren on the surface. We then had an episode reuniting everyone with Kidan and his sisters, followed by an onslaught of fanservice and flasrabroadacks...but mostly flasrabroadacks.

However, immediately after fending off an attack from an oversized Gunman, Team Gurren now has to deal with another foe: Viral has returned to challenge them.

Tonight's schedule:

11 PM: You'll Be The One To Do That
11:30 PM: Farewell Comrades

The titles on the DVD are the official English dub titles. Sci Fi uses them, as well. It's just their schedule that uses the original titles for some reason.

Technically, if they wanted the original pronunciation to sound as much like "Simon" as possible, they could have done so. It's not a difficult name to phonetically reproduce in Japanese. It's almost trivial.

It wouldn't have to be mangled that bad.

I've watched and rewatched the original show and got very used to the deeper voiced original. Still prefer Konishi as the VA TBH.

Too bad Sci-Fi doesn't show previews or we would have heard what the voice will sound like for a significant new character in it.
