"Gurren Lagann" On Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday Block - Talkback *MAJOR SPOILERS*

I remeraber my first episodes from I-tunes was the three-part series finale. It was a load of awesome sauce on top of more awesome sauce. I feel ashamed that I missed them on TV since I was an occasional viewer of the series.

IN all fairness, the show makes a good point in that people won`t start to "un-emo" if everyone just kicks them around and won`t help them.

To Un-"emo" someone, you need to reach out to them with kindness. Even Kamina did this with Simon, he never made fun of him to straighten him out, he showed him through example and had confidence in his ability.(this happened again with Nia aroudn episode 12, when everyone thought that leaving simon alone would make him better, it was Nia who knew he had to be reached out to with kind but strong worRAB to get him out of it)

So, if one truly dislikes the existence of "emo", the most logical thing one should do is, help them, not deepen their "emoness" by giving them more of what they've always had.

Well, it sucks to be Simon, doesn't it? "Hey, thanks for freeing us from the beastmen, but we're going to execute you for something you had no way of knowing about."

Suicide Boraber Kinon? NOT COOL. I'd hate her as much as Rossiu except for one thing...What he said.

"Make sure you come back safely, Simon. You don't want to be late for your lethal injection!"

Kittan is truly awesome in the second episode.

I felt a little misty-eyed when Rossiu handed over the core drill. "I once entrusted our future to this." It reminded me of the boy with the big forehead, who was a meraber of Team Dai-Gurren. So long ago...

Yoko returns! "You've become a very pissing-off person, Nia"
I can't wait for the next episode.
We find out where Yoko's been all this time.
And I think you all are going to get a kick out of the episode after that.

Bandai mentioned at a panel that the subtitled versions would get the original episode 6 while the bilingual versions would get both(I think. Or the new version).

I just got sick of the emo mecha. It's funny, when you look at America's tastes when it comes to robots, we prefer the super variety. Look at successful giant robots in American media. Optimus Prime. Voltron. The Wing Boys. Domon and God Gundam (to a certain degree). The Shogun Warriors. Gurren Lagann is something that reverberates to that super robot loving part of all of us.

You also see the difference between the bitter slap and the fist of love. Let's face it, a lot of shows would be better if their lead protagonists needed to grit their teeth.

Oh, so he becomes like Caine from Kung Fu? Wandering the earth, getting intro adventures? That'd be a pretty awesome show.
