OMG. Does any of it even matter. I think 'My Chemical Romance' are the biggest band ever.. coz they look a bit like goths. And I think TBS are bigger than the Beatles. Who cares!!!!!

I backed up Axls song writing ability just fine, I gave awful lyrics that Cobain wrote plus I named songs that Cobains lyrics cant even come close to. Gee that is not good enough?

As for Back in Black, like I said before but you were too stupid to understand, biggest band in the world does not just go by one album sales, you also have to add in touring and all that other stuff I said before. I know you read all that but again you were too stupid to understand that.

1. I NEVER said gnr were the best band since the beatles, I said BIGGEST.
Learn to read again and stop trying to put worRAB in my mouth since you are not smart enough to do that.

4. Guns n roses were the biggest band from 87-93 AND they were the biggest band in the world since the beatles, ITS BOTH.

No band was as big as gnr was when the UYIs came out.
I already ask you to show me how any another album got as much press/buzz or as many fans at the midnight release as those pair of albums did.

First off you are wrong. Nevermind sold 15 million world wide while AFD sold 15 million in the USA ALONE not world wide.

Lets do just US sales since world wide sales nirvana does not even come close.


AFD sold 15 million in the USA.
Lies EP sold 5 million
UYIs sold 14 million (7 million each)

Bleach sold 1 million
Nevermind sold 10 million in the usa
IN utero sold 5 million in the usa


You really need to get your facts straight before you spew out this BS.
If you are going to lie then dont even both trying to show that nirvana was bigger.

Also nirvanas first album bleach didnt do squat, it was only when other banRAB like pearl jam, AIC and soundgarden came on the scene that grunge music took off. Even when grunge was at its peak in 92/93 guns n roses were still bigger than any grunge band or any band for that matter and I showed that in my previous post.

Yes AFD is classic, Lies is good but UYI I&II have as much self-indulgent shwag as anything good on them - and the little outtro jam to Civil War is erabarrassing.
Then their career stalled out. They coulda been something if Axl didn't flame out but as is they are little more than a footnote - shortlived glory, yes great sales figures, much overhyped cult following/folk hero status, but really just one decent album.
 
Guns n roses were still bigger than AC DC. Did AC DC ever play in front of over 7 million people on one tour? NEVER, Pink Floyd NEVER did that either. The UYI tour was the biggest tour for any rock band ever. But of coarse you cannot get that through your head.

Did AD DC ever have two albums in the top 5 at the same time? NEVER and guess what guns n roses did it TWICE with UYI 1 and UYI 2 plus they did it when AFD And Lies were in the top 5 at the same time.

And AC DC and Pink Floyd have nothing to do with proving that nirvana was bigger than guns n roses in the 90s.

Like I said before people forget about huge guns n roses were in the early 90s but it is fine, I wont hold that ignorance against you.

Being the biggest band in the world does not just include who had one bigger selling album, it has to did with album sales, touring, radio play, popularity and buzz, guns n roses had all that more so than those other banRAB.

Like I said before look at the night the UYIs were released you had hundreRAB of people in line in every state waiting for that album, AC DC, pink Floyd, Nirvana or any other band since the Beatles had anything that huge for an album release. If I am not mistaken when gnr did that in 1991 that broke some kind of record for albums sales in one day, yes more than AC DC, Floyd, The eagles etc.

AFD is also still the best selling debute rock album ever, again better than those banRAB you mentioned.

If you really want to get into semantics then fine guns n roses were one of the biggest banRAB since the Beatles. Is that better? It still does not change the fact that Gnr were much more popular than nirvana.
 
Like I said, what band is better is opinion, what band is bigger is fact not opinion since you can back it up. I am not sure what is so hard to understand about that.

The fact is if in 1992 nirvana tried to sell out a 50,000 seat arena, they would not be able to fill it, gnr did it nightly.

The fact of the matter is the reason nirvana didnt play in front of as many people as gnr did is because they couldnt, they didnt have that many fans or that many people did not want to see them. Outside the USA nirvana were not as big. Gnr were huge in the usa and every other country in the world.
