Guns N' Roses (Yes and Chinese Democracy, so don't make other threads on it.)

appetite is a classic

gnr lies - half is older recordings from when they were on a label called uzi suicide, that portion of the album is far better than the new stuff they did on that album IMO

illusions 1&2 - both good, hard to pick a fav between the two, get them both

The Spaghetti Incident is another album that, well, musically isnt their best, but it contains mostly old punk rock covers from banRAB like the damned, misfits, fear, new york dolls, uk subs, and even a charles manson tune which was enough for me to go out and get it.

I wish I could find the thread over a year ago when I wrote "when GnR finally relsease CD, everyones going to pan it before hearing it because they want to appear intelligent."

I don't care if I don't find it, you all eat your hurable pie right now.

I`ve not heard it either but certainly looking forward to getting around and listening to it.

I`m a big fan of Slash as well but mostly for his guitar playing and visual aspect, rather than his songwriting ability. I think the contribution of Izzy Stradlin, to probably be one the vital ingrediants of the group considering that Axl Rose wrote 75% of their stuff.

Agree about his piss poor voice at times but for many people his scratchy voice seems to be the big appeal.

album sales truely reflects the success of a band, its a measure of how many people like the music. you really should learn to say something other than "you really should learn how to read", you just sound monotonous now. and yes UYI is average- IN MY OPINION. do you understand the concept of opinion?! it doesnt mean i know nothing, it means i have a differing view to yourself. but then that just shows how conceited and dismissive you are really. and shut up about touring, a lot of people cant afford the ticket price or get to the location, it is not a true measure of a banRAB success- unlike album sales.

"On the aforementioned "Sorry," Rose suddenly sings an otherwise innocuous line ("But I don't want to do it") in some bizarre, quasi-Transylvanian accent, and I cannot begin to speculate as to why. I mean, one has to assume Axl thought about all of these individual choices a minimum of a thousand times over the past 15 years. Somewhere in Los Angles, there's gotta be 400 hours of DAT tape with nothing on it except multiple versions of the "Sorry" vocal. So why is this the one we finally hear? What finally made him decide, "You know, I've weighed all my options and all their potential consequences, and I'm going with the Mexican vampire accent.""

It's so true bahahaha.
Great review, for the most part I agree. Axl did what he wanted to. He gave us an album that was as much of a continuation from The Illusion series as possible. While working on his own time. Many people don't agree with it obviously, but Axl knows his diehard fans are willing to wait if he's making music and he put together an outstanding creation even if parts of it are seemingly over-complex. If you're gonna hate on Axl for this album, as he would say, get in the ring.

My personal favorite tracks are "Better", "There Was A Time", and "Madagascar." With "Better" being quite possibly my favorite GnR song period.

Incidentally - if we're counting live aid as a queen show, which lets face it - it was...Queen have kicked the arse of G'n'R already. Also i dont recall Freddie Mercury attacking a fan because he had a video recorder....

You need to get your facts straight, AFD sold 15m just in the USA. So you are going to try and claim that it only sold 2m more outside the USA? Wow you really are a joke if you think that.
