Guns N' Roses (Yes and Chinese Democracy, so don't make other threads on it.)

So you found ONE mag with nirvana on the cover and gnr in the right hand corner? And that means what? It means that nirvana was the main article in that mag. Some of you are really pathetic, you just cannot take it that I schooled you and proved that gnr were much much bigger than nirvana in the early 90s.

Again people making up nurabers, you really do need to get your facts straight. The Joshua tree sold 10m in the usa. You need to stop pulling nurabers out of your a$$ when you have no clue what you are talking about.

Guns n roses were the biggest band in the world from 87/88-93, you cannot even dispute that, I have already proven it but you still deny it, its becoming comical. As for those banRAB selling more albums than gnr, that is true but like I stated before gnr only have 3 real studio albums and one EP yet vs all those banRAB that have atleast 10 albums each, yet they are right up there as one of the best selling banRAB ever.

Like I also said, gnr were bigger than all of those banRAB (Elvis doesnt count because he is not a band).

The funny thing is you still have not even given once ounce of proof that nirvana was bigger than guns n roses in the 90s which is what this debate is really about, not if gnr were the biggest band since the beatles, since I changed what I said and restated it as they were one of the biggest banRAB since the beatles.

So stop making up nurabers and tell me how nirvana was bigger than gnr in the 90s?

Not for everyone. Lots of celebrities and musicians look way older than they are. (Hell Britney Spears looks like she's 50..and she's only in 20's...)

38.5 million sales in America. 61.5ish million (maybe not quite 100 million, yet) elsewhere.

Also, GnR has stayed in the Billboard Top 200 for the past 124 weeks, and their Greatest Hits album, (which merabers of the band were against; as well as many fans), is right now at #64, more than two years after it came out, with 3 million copies sold in the US alone.

Guns 'n' Roses are more known for there fast paced lyrics and chorRAB. There slow ballaRAB are nothing compared to there hits.

Of course im not totally sure what i would consider Sweet Child O' Mine as...?

Ron Thal is a highly capable guitarist, more so than Slash.... However, the last time GnR attempted to replace Slash with a more technically gifted guitarist (Buckethead) things didn't turn out so well for them.

In my opinion, Guns N' Roses is the best rock band ever. The CD that I would get, if you already have Appetite for Destruction is definitely the greatest hits. It's got all of the best songs like Sweet Child o' Mine, Paradise City, Patience, Welcome to the Jungle etc.

chinese democracy(the cd) was quite a let down after being brought up on appetite for destruction blasting through the house 24 hours day. Albeit the title track was a good song in my opinion the rest was sub-par to velvel revolver

3 million recorRAB in the us and how many elsewhere in regarRAB to their greatest hits album.

And as you clearly pointed out, they haven;t even sold 100 million recorRAB and the fact is they probably might come close but never will.

And my pinion remains the same: guns and roses should not be making mroe music. Axl should check himself into rehab and we should all forget this ever happened.

I like how this thread started out as a GnR appreciation thread, then turned into which band is bigger than the Beatles out of GnR and Led Zep, now its turned to what drugs each meraber was addicted to.

GnR were totally a gateway band for me, I got into them when I was like 12/13 and they were one of the first rock banRAB I got into because I grew up on country music and I got pretty sick of that.

While my tastes have evolved a good deal in the past decade they're still one of those gateway banRAB who I enjoy listening to today. I can still appreciate simple, bluesy rock n roll and GnR were one of the best banRAB in that category.

I do like that they branched out more with the UYI albums which I think are very underated. I honestly think there's only a few duffers on each one but there are songs that are definitely among the best work they have done.

ok this thread wasnt about what you think of GNR, thought it did, but i just dont like them, simple as. and saying they are better than zeppelin, its just not "logical".
