'Gundam Heroine Half Age Girls'....wha?

See? Dont look quite as bad when they're painted, do they? If people didnt jump on the 'They're unpainted! They're meant to look fetishy naked!!' thing, I dont think there'd have been an issue.

Opinions vary I guess. The little posses they are in look pretty "sexualized" to me, besides the fact that you are leaving it up to the buyer to actually put clothes on them.

It would be harmless and cute if they were "half Aged" characters from an animation with a young female demographic, but reguardless of how many females actually watch Gundam, the Gundam demographic is mainly geared towarRAB males, which makes the fact that they are selling "Gundam Heroine Half Age Girls" seem VERY CREEPY. But hey, intent can be debated almost endlessly in this case. But as far as I'm concerned intent and reality are completely seperate when it comes to "Gundam Heroine Half Age Girls".

For me, it was more "Why are they seemingly advertising child versions of characters who are already fairly young anyway?". It's possible to do that idea completely clean (example- MegaHouse's Straw Hat Pirates as kiRAB figurines) but the Gundam Heroines line is pretty much established as being aimed at the morally arabigious fanboy crowd, complete with questionable detail (removeable clothes with sculpted underwear?).

So on my part at least, the concern was more vague early concern based on existing evidence.

Let's not forget this is all based on OPINION. Others as well as myself are uncomfortable with this product in one way or another, and just because we don't like it, that doesn't mean the product is in fact that bad. But that also bodes for the people who keep saying....look, its not bad at all, and claiming, or implying, that we were all overreacting. Just because you don't find/see ill intent in the product, doesn't mean there is NO ill intent involved. This will just have to remain a case of "Agree to disagree". Some will be bothered by it and some won't. Everyone's OPINION is valid.

Aren't those meant for Gashapon machines? Like the Girls in Uniform line?

I wouldn't expect high end paint application on something you can buy for the equivalent of a buck or two ya know?

Is there anything to be gained from constantly restating that opinion? We get it, you see no problem. Constantly reposting that at this juncture of the matter is a waste of time.

Yeah, there certainly is an issue with a lot of figurines in general. I don't see it much, but I've seen the occasional questionable product at a convention and certainly for sale online (in general, not just for Gundam). No doubt it's much easier to find in Japan. All I know is that if they ever stoop to Gundam body pillows, my fan rage will flow.

But I thought you liked the character of Sumer- OH! Sorry, misunderstood.

One thing I wish they would do with these- put more male characters in. I know you could say these are a more male aimed series whilst things like Prop Petite are aimed at females, but I'd love to see an inexpensive series of these sort of things which was aimed at everyone and covering characters from both sexes. Closest in recent memory is Gundam 00 Portraits, which had various characters of box sexes in each set.

Not as far as I'm aware. The solicitation was in a big list of Bandai's autumn/winter collector aimed offerings. Pictures of pretty much everything in it probably won't start showing up until a month or so from now.
