Guitar Rape

This happened a few months back, but it's just now becoming a problem.

I have been playing guitar for 2 years. I started out shortly before I joined WTF. My dad bought me a Peavey Raptor EXP Signature Edition for my 14th birthday. I was happy with it, for a year and a half. Then, me and my dad decided that I was taking music seriously, and that maybe it was time I stepped up and got some new gear. So he got me a "Fiori V" guitar...It's really decked out. Purple see-through body, gold hardware/knobs. The dude at the store said 2,800. I called bullshit. So he jocked it to 1 grand. I figure that's a hell of an improvement from 2,800. So i took it home, and enjoyed it.

For a long time, I've played this guitar and had no problems with it. Now, it's fretting out on the 14th, and 16th frets, 1st high E string. That kinda pisses me off. Plus, the fucking hardware on the headstock is rusting out.

So i was like...there's no way this guitar could EVER be worth 2,800. I told my friend about it, who's a collector of guitars, and he found the same exact, I mean exact to a T, guitar, on ebay. Found it for $180. I was pissed, but didn't do anything about it, cause the guitar played fine when I figured it out. Now that it's fucking up, I'm upset.

This guitar is frauded to fuck. The headstock was sanded down, repainted white(I can tell, as there are paint bubbles cause it was a homemade job.), and the original hardware put back on. That pissed me off, because he overpriced a guitar hardcore that wasn't anywhere near worth it.

I want to go out and get something I know will play good, like a Dean Razorback, or something. I'm thinking of trading in my V for cashback, and then going to a different store, and trying to get a guitar that's worth the money I'm giving them. I'm thinking either Washburn Anarchy Series, or a Dean. but i dunno. Or should I take it in, and have the piece of shit fix it, and call it a day? I'm not sure. Help, please?

get a fuckin gibson, I had one, played like heaven for as long as I had it. And ditch the pos, it doesn't sound like it's worth the money you'd use to repair it. I agree about the Ibanez, but only the high end ones, they can get real cheap with their hardware as well.

And do your homework from now on before buying something like that, especially if someone easily takes over a grand off of the price.

yeah Deans are good, and so are gibsons. I personally play a peavey raptor, and a epiphone les paul. The epiphone is great actaully. Pretty cheap, and its got a great sound. The humbuckers really play well. I hate ibanez though.

Mexican stratocaster, or a American made used one. Not my favorite guitar but has stood the test of time and won't disappoint. Beside if you become famous you going to need one anyway.

p.s. i saw the new guitar Fender VG You can have 5 different tuning settings...oh you need drop D..switch dropped D.

Ibanez S470, hands down. Very versatile, comfortable, good looking, and somewhat cheap. ESPs are also very good for the money, but if I had money to blow on a guitar it would be an S470.

I dunno, I don't have money to blow. I'm content with my V, I just want to be able to play on 23 frets if I have 23 frets. if not, i'm getting fucked. Like I said, it frets out on 14, and 16, on high E. doesn't matter what tuning I'm in. I'll go from standard to drop A flat. still frets out.

Take the fucker back, use the warranty if you got one (please tell me you got a warranty on a 1k guitar) and have them fix it. Turn around and trade it in at another store for a chunk of money and go get a nice Gibson or something. Im in the market for a Telecaster this Christmas, I found an ultra-light one that plays like a god. Its not the most metal guitar, but for the money (about 1k) it plays like a beast. I use my current Peavey EXP Generation somethin or other (cost about 700) and it can play anything from jazz to heavy metal.

But seeing as you already had a EXP Peavey I cant help in that area :happysad:

Get a Schecter. You will not be disiponted. Bottom Line. $600.00 on a Schecter will buy you a guitar you will have for the rest of your life. I bought a Schecter S-1 Elite six years ago and it has no fret buzz what-so-ever and plays just like new. Oh, and I bought mine used off ebay for about $400.00 bucks. If you aren't happy with a $600.00 Schecter you won't be happy with a $2500.00 Gibson.

Here's a couple off links to pics of my guitar.
