guitar hero world tour on playstation 2 won't work?

i'm trying to play it but the playstation keeps saying it can't read the disk and keeps going to the browser screen. its a brand new game and the playstation is reading all my other games. why won't it work and what can i do to make it work?
yes it is a ps2 game.
 
did you buy it new, if not then that might be the prob. but if you got it new say that something is wrong and get your money back
