I saw on italian forum a trick who made possible change firmware without flashcode.
I haven't try.
1: download reshack drom here http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/reshack_setup.exe
2: open huawei firmware with reshack
3: select "string table" on the left and after "13"
4: now change the last 5 numbers on the string with your current version (you can find your current version on "mobile connect" under "Tool" / "Diagnostic")
