He was a unitarian, which meant that he believed hell was a place for people to be rehabilitated, not suffer eternal punishment. Here are other people who agree with him:

I don't belive in god. Will I be punished forever ? Are all of these people stupid, idiotic, or evil ? Have I found the ultimate defense ?
My point is that even if there was a god ( I am an atheist) that "god" would not punish me, for my disbelief in his existence. It's all a hypothetical statement to try and disprove religious bigots who assume that just because you dont belive in god, theres something wrong with you.
"keeping the people quiet" Sure Napoleon built an empire, but did he keep it for a long time? No

Just because my opinions differ from yours, dosn't mean I plagurized you. All, I'm trying to prove here is that just because you don't belive in a god that dosn't mean you are a bad person.
