GTA4 Freezes at SAME point on my Xbox360

Is anything being done about this? It's got nothing to do with my 360 being hot, because it will freeze even after unit has only been on for 10 minutes. SAME spot during this little jacob mission while I'm driving. FULL freeze, i have to turn off the xbox by hand, the controller is frozen. It does it both on my original account, and my LIVE profile saves.

Any fixes for this? Or should i just kill myself
 
Game froze & reset on me multiple times, error message was always your disc is dirty. Ejected the disc, saw a small smudge (less than 2-3mm) on the disc in the right light and rubbed it with my shirt. Put the disc in and played fine

Sounds similar, as it would always crash/freeze at the same spot.
 
I don't get any error messages. The screen just freezes, and I have to push the power button...I will try to clean the CD and clear the cache on the xbox and see if that works.

Yeah I got rid of the game. Debating if I should buy a brand new copy or a used copy and risk that disc giving me issues. It froze during a MULTIPLAYER match, and so I couldn't take it anymore

Been playing saint's row to hold me over ...for my fix of lighting people on fire
