gta 3 ps2 game completetion help?

to complete grand theft auto 3 on ps2, do i need to do all the phone box/diablo missions etc?
cos im on staunton island right now and im wondering if i'll need to go back over to liberty and do all those missions aswell?
any help is appreciated thank you x

i have actually got onto the third island on GTA3 on PSP.

You dont have to do the phone missions, they're only to gain some money.

You only need to keep doing the actually main missions to get to the third island. The rest do not count, only if you want to complete the game 100%
