gs500f for a first bike?possibly gsxr600?

i asked about a k6 gsx-r 600 for a first bike and 80% of yall thought i was crazy. now i also am interested in a gs500f but i've heard of people getting bored with them so fast and i dont want it to end up being a 2 month enjoyable investment if im dropping a few grand on any thing. im serious when i say its not the power im looking for its the fact of having the bike for a long time and i like suzuki's styling on their super sports and the gs500f is the closest to match but most say its gutless.
