Grrrrrrrrr - T3 kaput?

Ok I have no clue what happened.
2 weeks ago, I ordered this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5726611119&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

A Palm Tungsten T2 T3 USB Sync Charger Cable.

I received it today. I hooked it to my T3. I hooked it to my USB. The green light went on(charging...). I tried powering on my T3(as we can do with the craddle) but it wasnt powering on. So I said "ok, maybe the direct cable does not allow a charge AND a power on". It was weird as I had no clue how to hotsync if that was the case but anyway. I take the USB off, take off the attachment from the cable to my T3 off. Try to power on my T3, nada!

I can't power on my T3 anymore. No clue why. I put the craddle, put my T3 on it, the green light does turn on but still, I can't turn my T3 power on even if it's off the craddle or on the craddle. I tried sliding it open, nothing happens.

I tried to soft reset(with my stylus, push the reset button on the back), nothing...

I'm very very angry at that. I have no clue how a cable could "damage" my T3 but I can't see any other thing that could've done it. I tried my T3 this morning to set an appoitment and it worked.

Can anyone please let me know what I could do?

First give your T3 a good couple of hours to charge properly. Then re-try the soft reset. If that doesn't work you'll need to do a battery reset. To do this, soft reset your Palm WHILE it's still in the cradle. Your Palm would then need a long charge (maybe 4 hours) but you could try powering it up while in the cradle still.
That should solve your problem hopefully. If not, I'm afraid it sounds like a duff battery. :(

Unfortunately, it's entirely possible for one of these generic USB sync and charge cables to damage the battery charge circuit in a Palm. The output from a USB port is about 5 volts but polarity is very important in wiring a USB plug to charge a Palm. If the USB plug was wired with reversed polarity, you can instanly fry the charge circuit in your T3. If the charge circuit isn't functioning, the T3 think's there's no battery and won't turn on regardless of what the green light shows. I'm hoping that the USB cable only temporarily confused the charge circuit and you can try what iicRules suggests. If that fails, I'm afraid your T3 is going to need factory repair.
