Growing out of it?!

I know this is a really stupid question, but how many people grow out of acne?! Obviously those who have are probably no longer on this forum..but I've had moderate acne from the age of 13 and I am now 19. My mother keeps thinking that I'll grow out of it, but I'm not so sure?? I've been using Retin-A for a couple of years, and although it is helping, my skin is still not 100% clear and occasionaly I get the odd cyst (right now I have a massive one on my forehead!). Also, I'm thinking of perhaps increasing the Retin-A conc.?

Anyway, it'd really give me some hope, knowing that people do grow out of acne eventually!!

These arent completely right, but this is what I vaguely remeraber my dermatologist saying.

60% grow out of it completely, it never comes back.
20% of cases, it comes back but not as bad.
10% of cases, it comes back the same.
10% of cases, it comes back worse.

I'm not sure, these aren't right, but it is something like this.

I'd say the vast majority of people do grow out of it. In college I rarely see anyone else on campus or in my classes that still has acne, as opposed to high school where moderate acne was common and nearly everyone had at least a mild case. Then again it's hard telling who grew out of it, or if they just found an effective treatment. I'm 21 and still have moderate acne, some people just don't grow out of it until their 30s or later. It sucks, though in a way I guess it means at any age there's still hope of growing out of acne.
