There's a strange irony in Treadwell almost bragging about surviving in the wilderness with these bears, right before being killed. The guy clearly had issues, and sounded camper than raving homosexual, despite having a girlfriend who also died because of his obsession. There are many poignant parts fo the film, with foxes and bees and poop.

A recommended watch.
 
excellent film. treadwell was obviously ****ed up to the max but he was willing to break social boundaries that a tiny minority actually strive to break - thoreau esque if you will. probably deep down a good person, better than a lot of people can say.

some of the footage he captured was especially good, his relationship with the foxes, the bear fight on the sandbank and the general touching of/proximity to the bears has to be some of the greatest footage ever seen in cinema.

what a mentalist.
