Grindhouse to hit the UK in full & uncut

I was lucky enough to see the complete Grindhouse (both films back to back at a proper 90minutes each with fake trailers and interval) when I was in Canada last year. It was so much better as an experience than the individual films alone.

And today I have noticed that the BBFC has passed Grindhouse in its complete version with no cuts:

Does this mean a DVD release or a true film release???

I hope so. Death Proof is released on DVD today, I don't know about Planet Terror. I'd love to see them both back to back with the fake trailers in between. It is possible to fit a 3 hour movie on a single DVD, so surely the two movies with the fake trailers will fit. Any extras etc. can be put on extra discs in the box.

Paddy :D

If it were a DVD release it would have been on the 'Video & DVD' tab at the top of the page, this is on the 'Feature Film' section, which suggests that it's a theatrical release.

I'm watching Death Proof at the moment, and I'm wondering if Grindhouse will be released as one on DVD, ever. It's listed on both play.com and Amazon.co.uk as "In production" but the DVD has been listed on both sites for almost a year.

im so annoyed that they didn't think to release them together first then do separate releases later on!
since Planet Terrors not out till i think march 10th and Death Proof's been out about a month or more?
it's ridiculous!
can't wait to see Planet Terror, LOVE death proof!
Kurt Russell is amazing in it and the soundtrack is just brilliant!

I saw it as part of the Glasgow Film Festival yesterday. Was amazing.I hope it wasnt rated just for that one showing............bit unfair on you all lol.

For those of you based in London, you might be interested to know that the Prince Charles Cinema (just off Leicester Sq) will be showing Grindhouse as a double bill + trailers (as it was intended) on 8 March at 8pm. For details see the PCC website here.

Enjoy! :D

There is an excellent multi disc R2 dvd set available in Japan that has the full uncut version including fake trailers aswell as extended versions of the individual films and lots of extras

I have the uncut version and have had it way before the controversy began on whether or not to release the films individually.

I think the whole film worked for me because it reminded me of a 70's all night cinema horrorfest.

But I guess this will be lost with 'modern' cinemagoers.

There was nothing to beat an all night cinema whether it be horror or sex movies in the 70's and I truly think this was what this film was trying to recapture.

Just a shame that some officials and, may I say it, some peeps, failed to understand its goals and also its aim to recapture that audience.
