Greyhound Road Trip :: FTL

I have come to the conclusion that I am Greyhound's bad luck charm.

First off, I decided to take public transportation because of the fact that it was supposed to snow the weekend that I was heading to Illinois. So, I reserved round trip greyhound tickets for an overnight trip on the 8th of November, and the return trip on the 12th.

Well, I got to the station an hour early, and proceeded with being bored out of my mind. My bus was scheduled to depart at 2:10 PM. 2:30 rolled around, and I began to wonder. Turns out the bus was going to be an hour and fifteen minutes late for 'unknown reasons.'

Finally, the bus comes, we load the luggage and head on toward Birmingham, Alabama (about a two hour ride). Fate would have it that there would be a wreck on the freeway, and that we would have one huge merger to one measly lane, thus us getting stuck in traffic for yet another hour. Finally, we transfer buses at Birmingham, and I head to Nashville, Tennessee.

In Nashville, I have to get re-routed to Louisville, Kentucky to change buses. If it hadn't of been for the wreck, I would have made my bus on time. After switching buses in Louisville, I had to get rerouted again in Indianapolis, Indiana.

All in all, my trip up there sucked. A supposedly seventeen hour bus ride turned into twenty-one.

On the way home, everything was great until we got back to Birmingham. After getting on my bus there, we get thirty minutes away from my original destination, and our whole fucking pulley falls off of the bus.

The bus OBVIOUSLY isn't going anywhere, so we wait three hours for a replacement bus.

Next time, I'll take a plane.

When I read the title, I thought is was a BattleStar Galactica related thread.
(In case you don't watch it, FTL is common term in that show referring to FastThanLight) Anyway, sorry to hear the travel part sucked, but glad you enjoyed your trip.

Holy shit.

I just thought of something Yuck.

If my bus rides - to and from - are both equivalent to 21 hours...

That equals forty-two.

OMG. I AM LIFE'S MEANING. Or... at least my greyhound trip was. :/
