i'm amazed they never carried on with Gremlins movies , it's a natural for a franchise , it doesn't even rely on well known actors , anyone could be in it .

Hope it isnt remade aswell,its fine just the way it is,i remember reading the script a few years back,it was much darker than the movie,if i remember right the mogwai was evil and ended up killing the dog.

I have to disagree with you on this one. As was shown with the second film you can only go so far with Gremlins out of control before it all starts to look the same.
Around the same time as Gremlins you had another similar kind of thing in a series of films called Critters. Other than for the reason they wrre crap to start with, they too showed with their sequels that the films are all the same and thus they failed as you wasn't getting anything new to keep you interested.

The current obsession with celebrity would make a great basis for a Gremlins 3 I think but I doubt Joe Dante will be involved.
