Green Mile

Some films end and that is it, but every so often you watch a movie and the emotions are on overload and for days you see certain scenes in your mind after you have only watched the film once. Green Mile is one such film, that I will look at again but not for a while. I get far too emotional over some films with the taps on sometimes in anticipation of what lies ahead.

I like the film, but hate the tacked on bit at the end with old Tom Hanks (i know it's not Tom Hanks!) explaining how he might be almost immortal.

It should have end after John Cofe's execution. That was one of the most emotional scens I've ever seen. I cried and cried.

im always an emotional wreck after watching this film, its such a great film and always leaves me in flooRAB of tears, the same goes for the magdalene sisters it gets me the same way

I disagree, I think the ending is needed because his extended life is like the price he had to pay for what happened. The first time I watched it and he revealed the mouse is still alive I was smiling so much. It's a great film, one of the few King adaptations that successfully gets across his general tone and message.

I think there is a spark of magic in some of King's works. Not all, but some. It doesn't usually translate well to the big screen, but The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption, along with Stand By Me ( based on (The Body)...all are outstanding adaptations. I thought the casting in the Green Mile was just perfect, and the execution scene (along with a few others) always gets me sobbing my eyes out.

Wathced it again last night on Five and it's so good.
It was only me second time watching it, the first time many years ago, great movie, very poignant and some great acting.
