Greatest Rock Singers

I'm not denying that Bjork shouldn't be on this list.
I just think her voice is kinda weak. The only thing that makes her voice distinct is the instrumentals used in her songs.

That's just my opinion

1.Freddie Mercury(Queen)
2.Kurt Cobain(Nirvana/Fecal Matter)
3.Layne Staley(Alice in Chains/Mad Season)
4.Chris Cornell(Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog)
5.Scott Stapp(Creed/solo)
6.Daniel Johns(Silverchair)
7.Henery Rollins(Black Flag/Rollins band)
8.Bruce Loose(Flipper)
9.Andrew W.K(Andew W.K)

Kurt was a great singer for grunge.
If we were talking about pure singing talent, he may not be on the list at all.
I love the man though.

..You said cornell and cobain and you're criticizing other singers?

1. Anthony Green (Circa Survive/Saosin)
2. Davey Havok (A.F.I.)
3. Thomas Erak (The Fall Of Troy/The Hills Have Eyes/Thirty Year War)
4. Geoff Rickly (Thursday)
5. Drew Speziale (Circle Takes The Square)
6. Frank Turner (Million Dead/Frank Turner)
7. Tim McIlrath (Rise Against)
8. Chris Conley (Saves The Day)
9. Nate Barcalow (Finch)
10. Jerry Jones (Trophy Scars)

Cornell has a great alternative voice. He's also probably one of the most talented singers of the 90's - today. I kept my list at 10, but I could add a load of other great singers.

Hmm..

I had a similar post like this a few years back in a similar forum called 'Radiomute'. It's quite a good topic to discuss really.

You should have included a poll, that would have been more interesting.

I would say my favorite rock singers would be,

Robert Plant
Johnny Cash
Geddy Lee
Jon Anderson
Perry Farrell
Layne Staley
Don Dokken
Greg Lake
Roger Daltrey
Bruce ****inson
Geoff Tate

Mind you, these choices were based on the topic of your thread, which was, 'Greastest Rock Singers'.

So, I limited all my chices to 'Rock', and based my choices on pure singing 'chops', as in raw talent. That's what I was able to come up with off the top of my head.

p.s. if you're interested i will add the link to the other thread, it's quite interesting what some other people from about 5-6 years ago had to say on this topic.

singer not singers :)

I saw Audioslave at lollapalooza a few years ago. Chris was chopping at his neck on stage to make his voice do that thing it does int he song "what you are"
Amazing. After seeing that I couldn't deny him a spot on a list like this.
