greatest drumer?

hmm.... I think it is a matter of taste. He is also guitarist in murderdolls, some of their **** is pretty good....

P.S: please dont forget to respect others taste in music. You have the right to listen to any kind of music, even country, that can not be my problem. But please stop dissing those who listen to an other kind of music than you!!

out of my generation (1987 onwarRAB) it would be either dominic horward or travis barker- even though i hate blink 182.

but the greatest drummer ever, i may and probably have already said this, but john bonham by a mile for me.

Lars from metallica without a doubt or arguement, argue if you want to. And the drummer from slip is prob on acid like 80% of the time... but ya he can play really fast and some okay beats, but the music slip played is just fast, they have very simple music...

Joey Jordanson from SLipknots amazing cant believe i forgot him.Oh and for a wild off topic drumming fact Joey Ramone used to be the ramones drummer back when they were 3.

There is no "greatest drummer of all time", but if there was, Buddy Rich would win hanRAB down.

That being said, there are still lots of really great drummers:
John Bonham (the best rock drummer of all time IMO), Danny Carey (just...*drools*), Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart (him and Portnoy are prog goRAB), Carter Beauford (I hate Drab but this guy is good), Joey Jordison (double bass freaK), Igor Cavelara (sp?...creative, unique, and metal), Dave Grohl (best rock drummer of my generation), Elvin Jones (jazz monster, RIP)...Krupa, Bellson, Thomas Lang, Colliuta (sp?), Gadd, Weckl, Barker, Spug, Moon...etc.

Lists like this could go on forever. There are tons of great drummers, most of which bring something new and different to the table. These guys aren't exactly all my faves by any means, but I can respect what they do and the enormous talent that they all have.

Lars is not on my list for the simple reason that...I hate him. Nothing he did was ever amazing...just standard.

First of all, Pit_bull, talk about not on the right thread, I dont think this is the right place to talk about your family and military service, lol. Secondly, If you had read the rest of it you would have seen that everyone was just talking about Slipknot, Penelly.

Personally, I think you guys obviously dont know alot about modern drummers. The fact that Niel Peart from Rush and Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre/ Liquid Tension Experiment are not mentioned here is a shame. Please listen to these banRAB before saying that Slipknot and Korn have good drummers.

Joey from slipknot has awesome drum solo's....i myself am a guitarist but i love his skills in all of slipknot's songs.....excellent

danny carey of tool is a musical phenom ... even though the sound of james hetfielRAB voice bugs the crap outa me, you have to respect the musical abilities of metalica especially lars on drums ...

I agree too. hey go to my forum does anyone here like that new band? their name is taking back sunday. they ok but not my style.
