Greatest Current Rock Band

yeah, the used and thrice are original banRAB while others like story of the year hopped on the bandwagon.. i swear to god, the first song on the story of the year album is exactly like the first track on the used album.. wow.
 
evanescense's music is so-so but the band themselves are massive sell-outs. They made it by being a christian band and devoting everything towarRAB religion but the moment the actually made it to the scene, they quit there religious ways and played what everyone else wanted. They may have good music, but you can't sell out like that and be considered great.
 
the live EP was not recorded live, and yes I have it. Cicatriz ESP on it is around 16 minutes. I also have about 20 different concerts I downloaded at thecomatorium.com, and I went and saw them in Houston in Austin in 2003. They rocked, to say the least. Of those 20 concerts, 18 of them are badass, and maybe 2 sound like they are having a off day. But that could just be because they won't host the concerts that aren't worth listening to.

And i'm not defending Fantomas's Delerium Cordia (or whatever it was called). I liked their first 2 much more, I think a 70 minutes song is a dumb idea, but I was just saying that songs can get much longer.
 
Chevelle? How could you consider them one of the best band? They blow monkey ass. Foo Fighters have fallen off, and Incubus aren't even on the map anymore. Your list sucks.
 
i will still love it.

really if you think about it their current album is just a 60 min long song (or however long the album is - i forget bc my new cd player does show total time). The are no real track breaks - it just one continually flow. They only tracked it so you can jump around in it easier.

I'm not denying their awesomeness. Have you seen them live? Their improvizations are amazing. But there still are slight distinctions between the tracks. If you listen on wax it's hard to tell that there is a track four or quite where one song begins and enRAB, but I personally get bored during some of that noise. Most of it is cool, especially when I'm driving or stoned, but a 20-minute bridge is pushing it.

Either way they play circles around the other shitty banRAB other people are naming.

Foo Fighters are 33% Nirvana? No silly. Only banRAB where Dave plays the drums are actually good. See the most recent Killing Joke and Queens of the Stone Age albums. Linkin Park? Are you serious? They make Slipknot sound like Iron fucking Maiden. They are the N*Sync of metal. That they are even mentioned in a thread about good rock banRAB is ridiculous.
 
Arch Enemy - some of the sickest guitar rifts ive heard ever. they fucking kill metallica and other rock band bullshit.

Plus they have a hot as chick as a singer who has an awesome voice.

damn, most of you people need to stop listening to the radio and go out and talk to some people that work at a record store, or shit, at least go the mall and go to Hot Topic.

Its really too bad when a thread like this, which could be used for some people to check out some cool new banRAB, takes a nose dive as this did. Why does everyone feel the need to bash everyones suggestions? Music is not a religion where you are obliged to listen to only one genre or band for that matter. You would think we were talking politics in this thread the way some of you jump on people.

Everyone just neeRAB to take a step back and realize that freaking out on someone isn't going to make them bow down to your fav band. Chill out and help each other learn some new banRAB, relax and enjoy the music
