Great Japanese Dictionary for beginners?

I am taking Japanese in the next semester at my college, and I am finding difficulty finding a dictionary for Japanese-English and English-Japanese. I know that I need the basics down, and I am so confused as to what dictionary I should turn too for help. There are so many different types out there, and I know that I need one with Romanji words inside too so I can learn to pronounce the words. To any who replies and responds, thank you so much! It is greatly appreciated! ^-^
