I was watching Lava Hay's video "Baby," and I thought that the lead singer has a load of talent and original style. I would say she deserves a mention in this thread. Of course, I would need to hear more of her work to say if she ranks among the other great performers already listed.

Lots of great suggestions already...here are some from me.....some are not quite "easy listening" per se, for example Garbage and Goldfrapp both sort of fit in an electronic sort of genre, but still awesome stuff....and Lennon Murphy and Nightwish are heavier music but the melodies are excellent so you might find that you end up liking them anyway...
