on the book great expectations does anyone know like any way that shows the history behind dickens like the victorian period and stuff.. for example when pip meets magwitch he describes him with no hat which shows a lower working class person.. can anyone help with any other examples please!?

I think Magwitch's attire may have been less considered than you imagine, he was after all on the run, and may have forgot his hat. Certainly Dickens wanted to portray the harshness of the penal system - transportation and so forth. The idea of social mobility -improvement by money is important and the aspirations that Pip has to become a gentleman - coached by herbert for example, and the snobbery of Estella (misplaced as it turns out) are all relevant.
