I'm auditioning for an a capella group on my college campus, and I'm trying to find the perfect song to audition for, because I already auditioned using the perfect song once (when they only needed a beatbox,) and now I feel I can't top that audition.
My range is up to (give or take a few notes with proper support and warm up) A4 in full voice, and up to around A5 in Falsetto. What most important to me is showing that I can belt that A4- maybe that B4- and if I can, find a song that allows me to show off my power-rock-Freddy Mercury-A5, that would be great also.
Seeing as it's an a capella group, not a musical theatre, I'm not looking for musical songs per se, but if you know of one that has a belted A4, that'd be great.
(For example, last time I auditioned, I sang Last Nite, by the Strokes, as covered by Adele, and they absolutely adored it, but were looking for a beatbox...)
P.S. I'm definitely not opposed to singing a girl's song, in the contralto range. (I used a feminine version of a masculine song last time.)
