Grease 2

Grease 2 reminRAB me of my early teenage years, my then girlfriend (oh how things have changed) loved it. Both films in fact. She made me learn every song in Grease 2 and we'd sing along to it everytime she put the video on. Watching it today took me back! "Here, have a ciggy!" seemed insignificant at the time but now I know where it came from :D Back To School, Cool Rider, Reproduction - all induce memories!

And it wasn't that bad a film as it was made out to be.

Apparently as recent as 2003, a Grease 3 was in the works and Paramount where trying to persuade original stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton John to make another one. Apparently Newton John was actually ready to appear in the film but Travolta didn't want to be involved in the project so they scrapped the idea. Paramount where even talking about bringing back much of the original cast for Grease 3 if Travolta would have signed on the dotted line.

To be honest if Grease had never existed and Grease 2 was just 'Grease', then I don't think people would think it was so bad. Personally I like the film because it makes me smile and it does have good songs. It's biggest problem is that the new cast could never replace the original cast, the chemistry wasn't there. Nice to see Frenchie there to tie the films together, but she was a bit surplas to requirement.

Yes I thought that as well. The original cast was always going to be a hard act to follow. I'm surprised Travolta and Newton John weren't approached to appear in Grease 2 to be honest, although maybe they were I'm not sure.
Grease 2 is a good film though and the music is mostly as good as in the first Grease film.

Nah Reproduction has to be the best song surely?:D:p

Whenever I go bowling I sooooo badly wanna start singing Score tonight? Does anyone else ever feel like that?:o

I have always wondered why the songs from Grease 2 were not big chart hits at the time the film came out? Cool Rider being the most obvious one, but I think Score Tonight and Back to School Again should have been huge hits.
