GRAW people

It's not about reaching the limits of the system. It's about the amount of time a development studio wants to spend on a particular resource. The online portion of this game was actually sourced to a studio seperate from the one that developed the single player portion and they were probably not given the same collateral with which to develop it.

It took me a while to get used to because I've never played a gamne w/ over the shoulder like that either, but I like it better now... you can see more.

That's pretty much what I was getting at ... just not having the time or manpower to code the game well enough to have the same graphics seen in the single player. Probably the same reason it's limited to 16 people (especially when some of those maps seem better suited to 20 or 24)

you can play in first-person if you choose to... just narrows your FOV somewhat, which may be a disadvantage in multiplayer.

Although I've been killed like 3 times in single player already by enemies that I fail to notice because they're standing right in front of "me" and "I" am blocking "my" own view.

It really is fucking amazing. I didn't even get through the first level cause I just kept wanting to look around.

It reminded me a bit of San Andreas a little, the look of it... but WAY better looking, WAY bigger, and much much better guns.

Gameplay is smooth as hell. I'll probably start the first level over again, cause it was a blast.
