My son is 18 months old. His father hasn't had anything to do with him since I was 5 months pregnant. I've never taken him to court, never sued for child support. Never had any involvement with the court, mainly because I don't need his father to be around, and his father is not "well enough" to be around him. I've planned on moving to NY from FL for 3 months now. I make the final trip on Friday. I guess it got to my sons father by word of mouth, and his mother called me telling me it was illegal to take him to another state and they were going to sue me for custody! They've NEVER made an effort to have anything to do with him, until now. His father doesn't care that I move, but it's his god awful mother causing a bunch of hype. Does SHE have the right to sue me for custody because I moved to another state? I know his father wont, but is there anything SHE can do? I dont want any social workers coming and taking my son because I moved... If he sued me, I could just move back, right? I wouldn't have to give him up?
